Because in SW, slavery and prostitution and drugs are the norm in a large part of the Galactic Empire...
In Star Trek, that only happens in backwards, backwater worlds or in hostile controlled space. Since the Nemesis incident, talks are open between the Remans and Romulans, the Romulans want to sign a peace treaty with the Federation, et all...
And I agree - I don't think SW has I-Stabs. They have gravitational manipulation of some sort... but Han calls them something else.

It's... exhilarating... but terrifying. The big thing in any fight is to maintain your emotions and remember your training.
I also have a rather large advantage over most people, but that's not something I discuss online because of how... difficult... it is to explain.

I think Star Wars should be the offensive, because they have the speed and communications.

i really don't know. but because you hardly see torpedo's fire at capital ships (except in rots) i presume they don't fire them because they use some sort of jamming. this would allso explain why Luke had to use the force to fire a torpedo in a trench. instead of just locking the target and make a fast run and fire wile passing by or dead-on.
I know that they don't mention any jamming device but i think it is the logical solution.

They actually did use jamming devices in the movie, for example when the Millennium Falcon jammed the TIE fighter heading for the Death Star.

Actually I beleive they do mention the Jamming Device when the Tie fighters made they're approach on the assaulting fighters.

the later the pull the better chances to hit he might have had, allthough he would have lesser chances of pulling up which goes badly for the X-Wing manoeverablity
besides the computer gave him the firing solution. he did not fire before it, ergo he did all by the book
