    Original: The Little Green Book

English Translation: The Little Green Book

The Little Green Book is a collection of fatawah handed down by the most prominent and arguably one of the most influential Muslim clerics in modern history; the Grand Ayatollah Seyyed Ruhollah Mosavi Khomeini, commonly known as the Ayatollah Khomeini. Fatawah (the plural of fatwah) are Islamic religious decrees sent down by Muslim religious leaders. Since Islam demands that Muslims abide by Sharia - Islamic law as individuals and as a society, these fatawah are not simply religious insights or advice. They are legal pronouncements, and define the law of the land in an Islamic country. In his unrivaled role as Iran’s Supreme Leader and the highest-ranking cleric for Shi’a Muslims, the Ayatollah Khomeini’s fatawah guided the lives of more Shi’a Muslims than did any other Islamic leader throughout history.

You have to read this book.
It's short, shorter than most Sciforum threads.

After spending a lifetime meditating daily on the most perfect revelation known to humankind - The Qur'an, the Ayatollah Khomeini reached "Islamic" enlightenment and, lucky for you and I, has decided to share his enlightenment principals with us.

I have often wondered: What new and novel insights into the human condition does the Qur'an proffer** - well now I know.

    Do enjoy,
    Michael

**note: While Philosophers such as Plato or Buddha meditated on what it means to be human and when epiphany struck they spoke of a deep understanding of the human-condition, Mohammad (pbuh) was merely a prophet and didn't need to think all that deeply on any such thing - he just had to repeat what the God-head was putting in his head. So, the most Perfect of Perfect Books, The Qur'an, yes the wonderous Qur'an, is more of a day to day manual, but don't loss heart - this ain't just any old manual, its the perfect manual. Together with a review of Mohammad's (pbuh) very own life-examples, the "Grand" poo-baa Ayatollah has produced this fantastic book. So, without further ado have a good read.

    Here's something interesting I didn't know:

If a man who has married a girl who has not reached puberty possesses her sexually before her ninth birthday, inflicting traumatisms upon her, he has no right to repeat such an act with her. If a man sodomizes the son, brother, or father of his wife after their marriage, the marriage remains valid.

A woman who has contracted a continuing marriage does not have the right to go out of the house without her husband’s permission; she must remain at his disposal for the fulfillment of any one of his desires, and may not refuse herself to him except for a religiously valid reason. If she is totally submissive to him, the husband must provide her with her food, clothing, and lodging, whether or not he has the means to do so.

Very interesting huh? With such wisdom and guidance it's no wonder the ME is such a paragon of human dignity and have reach such lofty heights.

excuse me... for just a moment....

    Here we go:

"A man can marry a girl younger than nine years of age, even if the girl is still a baby being breastfed. A man, however is prohibited from having intercourse with a girl younger than nine, other sexual act such as forplay, rubbing, kissing and sodomy is allowed. A man having intercourse with a girl younger than nine years of age has not comitted a crime, but only an infraction, if the girl is not permanently damaged. If the girl, however, is permanently damaged, the man must provide for her all her life. But this girl will not count as one of the man's four permanent wives. He also is not permitted to marry the girl's sister."

"A Muslem woman may not marry a non-Muslim man; nor may a Muslim man marry a non-Muslim woman in continuing marriage, but he may take a Jewish or Christian woman in temporary marriage."

    :wtf:

"The meat of horses, mules, or donkeys is not recommended. It is strictly forbidden if the animal was sodomized while alive by a man. In that case, the animal must be taken outside the city and sold."

"If one commits an act of sodomy with a cow, a ewe, or a camel, their urine and their excrements become impure, and even their milk may no longer be consumed. The animal must then be killed as quickly as possible and burned, and the price of it paid to its owner by him who sodomized it."

    :roflmao:

If a man commits adultery with an unmarried woman, and subsequently marries her, the child born of that marriage will be a bastard unless the parents can be sure it was conceived after they were married.

It is highly recommended that a girl be married off as soon as she reaches the age of puberty. One of the blessings of man is to have his daughter experience her first period not in her father’s house, but in that of her husband.

Thats some of the weirdest pornography Ive ever read. :bugeye:

Buggering your camels must be a regular occurance...otherwise, why would he spend so much time talking about it.

The passage about sodomizing girls younger than nine years of age doesnt surprise me, considering children have been bought and sold like furniture throughout middle eastern history.

What does this say about the relative value of camels vs. young girls???

Good question, some people say one of his wives was 9 - I'm pretty sure none were under 9. He probably was not into beastiality or a pedophile like the Grand Poo Baa Khomeini. This is because he never surrounded himself with a bunch of children. But, he did seem to think it was OK for him, a 50+ year old man, to have sex with someone we would consider a child. Any forward thinking person would have adopted the little girl as a grand daughter. But then again, tradition has it he had a singer killed for poking fun of him and he also owned african slaves, so, I wouldn't expect too much from the guy.

The point really isn't so much about Mo (pbuh), as he was merely a Prophet, there is nothing special about being a Prophet. A Prophet is no more a philosopher than a calculator is a mathmatician. The point is this great and wonderous and Perfect book called the Qur'an could be studied for a lifetime and be the bases of such asinine ideas.

It's as if reading the Qur'an caused the "Grand" Khomeini to regress mentally into a caveman. Yet, here he was the Leader of the Islamic Republic.

    Bizarro World

    Khomeini Tip of the Day:

"If a man becomes aroused by a woman other than his wife but then has intercourse with his own wife, it is preferable for him not to pray if he has sweated; but if he first has intercourse with his wife and then with another woman, he may say his prayers even though he be in a sweat."

Truely an enlightened man if ever one walked the earth,

Right...so um, where does he get this stuff?

Arent true muslims supposed to get their revelations only from the Quran or the Hadiths.

And not from their own imagination and reason.

Deep Islamic meditation on the Qur'an and Hadith.

Not all that surprising is it, didn’t some Islamic judges in KSA just hand out a few hundred lashes of the whip together with jail time for the crime of being raped by 5 men for several hours.

Maybe it’s just me but they both seem in line with one another – Khomeini and these Islamic judges. Well one's Persian and the other Arab - the common connection seems to be the Qur'an.

I'm thinking of opening a new thread entitled:
Khomeini's Islamic Tip of the Day

"If during an act of intercourse a man notices that the woman has begun mentruating, he must withdraw, if he fails to, he must give alms to the poor. If such a man cannot afford to give alms to the poor, he must at least give something to a beggar. If he cannot afford that either, he must ask forgiveness of God."
