I have this theory I have thought about for years now! I need someone to computer model it! Frank Marks at HRD says I need to get it modeled along with Michael Oppenheimer and many other scientists! HRD says they can't model it because they are not funded for it! The Idea involves mixing ocean waters in the Gulfstream using Pascal and Bernoulli principles! The Idea can regulate SSTs anywhere from 72 degrees on up to 90+ degrees if needed! The tunnels basically upwell cooler waters to the surface like a Scoop as Hugh Willoughby once told me long ago! Flow occurs because of the pressure differential between the two openings.Basically, the inlet which I call F1 is > F2 at the tunnel outlet! Pascal says any pressure differential within an enclosed system where energy is conserved a flow will occur! Therefore, Pascal's law can be interpreted as saying that any change in pressure applied at any given point of the fluid is transmitted undiminished throughout the fluid including against the walls. F1 at depth opposes the flow of the gulfstream while F2 near the surface is faced away from the gulfstream causing this pressure differential! I call this the cooling stage of the tunnels as this will mix the warm surface waters with the cool water exiting the tunnel thus cooling them prior to a hurricanes landfall. Only if a storm is forecast to hit our coastlines will this stage be used to weaken the storm! During cooling stage the tunnels remove 26 trillion BTUs from the SSTs per/day. This now cooler layer of water flows at the rate of 120 miles per day to the North in the gulfstream. In just three days the whole East Coast, GOM states, and Mexico can be offered protection from any hurricane that may hit them! There are three tunnel locations one in the Yucatan Channel, near Key West and just offshore in St. Lucie Fla.! They cover the width of the Gulfstream and Yucatan Current.

Whew! Were are almost there!

There are two stages for this idea, the one above prior to the emails is just 1/2 the story of the Tunnels! During both stages of operation I have designed them to produce electrical power through a venturi section of the tunnel near the discharge end. All totaled up I have calculated they produce 23 trillion joules of electrical power per /hour during both stages of operation! When not in cooling stage, which is only about 6 % of the time the flow is shunted or bypassed back to the surface where the warm surface water flows through the Tunnels and no cooling occurs!

I know it may sound complex but I hope you can see what I am trying to do with the Tunnels! I think they are the answer to the problem we face with the fossil fuels and Global Warming. Trust me I know it exists I was a control room operator for FPL at the Cutler Ridge Power plant for over 20 years and I am presently in the control room at the Anniston Army Depot in Alabama destroying this countries chemical stockpile of weapons of mass destruction! This is just an idea I came up with when hurricane Andrew rocked my world. It took about five years of thinking everyday. If you have any questions please feel free to get back with me! 2. That's dumb. Global warming would still occur and you've just spent trillions of dollars when you could have just strengthened your homes and reduced greenhouse gasses.

3. You better strengthen and water proof your homes as they will be underwater when the Arctic Ice melts. That will cost trillions while the tunnels cost billions and also prevent this from happening.

4. It won't melt all at once, I thought we were talking about hurricane danger.

The ocean actually does do some upwelling around certian islands. Don't you think that increasing this circulation could make the ocean heat faster?

No structure this big has ever been attempted besides oil platforms, and even they get blown off their foundations during a storm. Grandiose schemes like this never work.

5. Oil platforms do even in hurricanes.They multitask they weaken hurricanes and restore the Arctic Ice if we want them to all by regulating the discharge gate which can regulate SSTs.

11. The Gulf Stream is pretty deep, why would the tunnel cool the entire thing? There are islands that do the same thing already, and they don't manage to cool the Gulf Stream.

12. The area of the tunnels added up together =s the width of the Gulfstream is much larger than those islands.The upwelling around those islands and in some places along the continental shelf helped me formulate my idea. Here is a great example:

The horizontal flow is proportional to the vertical rise of the
water inside the tunnel". To me this means: The horizontal flow of the warm
water near the surface of the stream and the cooler water of the stream at
depth flows past the tunnel super structure at a given rate. That given rate
is proportional to the cooler water rising inside the tunnel until it exits
topside thus falling back down on the warmer water below it. As long as the
tunnel gate is left open in cooling stage the tunnel cools the surface
waters continuously.

14. Cooler water also contains more nutrients. How would you prevent the tunnel from becoming clogged with barnicles and coral?

Who would pay for this? It's only the US and Mexico, and some carribean islands that suffer from Atlantic hurricanes. Would the world let the US drop a massive pipe in the middle of the ocean?

Oh! That is easy Cathodic protection prevents this just like modern day power plants! Consumers pay for this anyways they just don't know it!

17. I would guess what the oil wells use out in the GOM. You could use stainless but the cost would increase depending on the type of stainless.

18. You can't build a tunnel big enough to cool the Gulf Stream out of metal. It's unlikely you could even build one out of concrete unless there was some economic interest. I think you are being unrealistic. Have you even been out on the ocean?

That doesn't protect against barnacles etc, otherwise ships would be using them as well.

I think your just a perpetual motion scammer, although you may not realise it.

Finally, have you worked out the forces involved, so that you can strengthen the tunnell walls as necessary.
