So this up coming season, I'm aiming to do a personal marathon (in training currently).
Sometimes during the evening, I usually take a shot of whiskey (1 shot = 1 ounce)....but no more than 3 shots.

Now, if this were to continue in an every-day pattern, what would be the long-term effects on my liver? My training is intense so I'm assuming that the liquor interferes with the bodies ability to repair or improve for the next training session? I haven't noticed any effects BUT I do not want it to interfere with my training at all.

I heard that it would take like 6 shots for the average man to get cirrhosis of the liver if he drinks everyday for the next 15 years. Not sure about the validity of that statement.
