I don't have time to read the articles just now - is it the total blackout method?

"In the first experiment, participants sat on a chair, wearing a pair of head-mounted displays that were connected to two video cameras placed side by side 2 m behind the participant's back (Fig. 1A). The images from the left video camera were presented on the left eye display and the images from the right camera on the right display. Thus, the person would see his or her back with the perspective of a person sitting behind him or her with stereoscopic vision. The experimenter stood just beside the participant (in their view) and used two plastic rods to touch simultaneously the person's actual chest, which was out of view, and the chest of the "illusory body," by moving one rod toward a location just below the cameras in view (5)."

This should actually exist in both Pseudoscience and Human Science forums. Since a thread can't exist in two locations at the same time, it requires a permanent link for redirection in one forum. So which will it be.....

Why would this be in pseudoscience? This was some good science!

It's not due to the science being false, it's that certain cases of people stating they have had OBE's usually find their way into Pseudoscience or Parapsychology. There is usually discussion, debate (and the break down of discussion there on) in regards to their claims which don't have any Scientific evidence. The actual Article/Topic however provides more Scientific clues in regards to what those people believe and therefore it's a good idea to make the information more available to them by having it in both Subforums.
