not that difficult! The more we write, the more we read, the more insightful we'll become.

A lot of people have committed a lot of thoughts to paper over the years. Some of them were interesting thoughts. The more you read, the more likely you are to encounter such thoughts. A lot of people don't think interesting thoughts. It either takes a good brain, lots of reading and a bit of luck, or a combination of the two to get someone's brain doing nifty things. So, more reading = more chance of the brain-cogs starting to tick over! But then just sitting there thinking about stuff should do the same trick.

I don't think that just reading something enables someone to thouroughly understand it. for someone to truly learn a concept they must put the idea, practice, whatever into application.

Literature is our collective database. Learn from other's mistakes, triumphs and Epiphanies. Also for me personally, its a lot easier to think through a thought if you write it down, and once you do there it is, concrete proof of that thought.
