A recent study shows that video games, more specifically first person shooters, improve visual acuity.
Now, keep in mind, this does not mean that playing video games changes your prescription or relieves you of the need for glasses. It doesn't.

It simply means that first person shooters may increase you ability to to see small details. The effect is on the brain, not the eye. So whether or not you need glasses is immaterial. The "practice" your brain gets during intense video game playing improves its ability to process visual information.
