It took a lot of guts, on my part, to admit that I was wrong and to express the real motives behind my criticism of American life and of Americans.

Some Americans saw right through me, and the others like me, who dared offer an honest assessment of them.
They knew that, just like the “terrorists”, we envy America and so we insult her and attack her.
I mean, why else would we say such cruel things abvout the U.S.A.?

In my home town we don’t have the liberties and privileges Americans have.

That’s a very wise suggestion.
I think I’ll do just that, even though I’ll be burdened with a life lived with jealousy because I can’t be American.
