Berserk Manga

It's me... Sam... that single fellow you all love / hate / enjoy company with. I luV u.. anyways so I finally did it! What you ask? I bought volumes 1-6 of Berserk from Overstock.com! I first stumbled accross this amazing Anime years ago while looking around Blockbuster video. They only had a handful of DVD's there but I got them all, soon I found myself addicted. This series is so amazing on video but the illustrated Manga is bound to be even more astonishing. Perhaps now I'll learn more than the first season Anime offered.

Will The Band Of The Hawks ever be reborn? Will Guts ever kill Griffith?

I'm also interested in a few questions the Anime left me with...

Why would Griffith sell his soul to become the dark angel when he was clearly already a good leader? It's confusing to me...

Also in the Anime he gets caught when trying to escape after he slept with the princess... without a sword he's defenseless.. this confuses me too, he could've run... also he could've just taken their weapons?! He was much more skilled than any of them..

So yea I look forward to getting them soon, and when I do you may not hear from me for awhile. I plan to keep buying the volumes until I get all the released ones here in the USA.

Do you guys like Berserk? What other Anime or Manga is similar that I might enjoy?

Sure I like it unfortunatly the serie will proberly never have a ending because the first volume is of 1988 and has around 31 volumes now with no end in sight.

One of the best epics ever written. I have yet to seem anything come close to as good as berserk.

Griffith would never have left his sword he would never do anything that stupid, and get caught in such a way. What was his downfall?

Griffith was pissed. His gay ass was upset that Berserk left the team. He was totally screwed up in the head after his best freind left the group. Berserk's gay ass left because he had idiotic insecurity issues. Korkus never says anything good, but that whole speech he gave Berserk about leaving was the first time Korkus started talking total sense.

By the way, the cartoon sex scenes is nothing compared to the comic. Griffith and princess go at it. So does Berserk and Caska. Especially when Fetmto bangs the hell out of Caska.

To me Berserk seems like a chracter that the writer turns into a hero, but at the same time puts him through all the worst crap a person can go through. Born out of a corpse. Raised in war. Raped as a child. Arm chopped. Caska raped in front of him and enjoying the whole process etc.

Great storyline, great plots, great everything.

This bites... it seems they shipping Berserk volumes 1-6 in 2 different orders. Now I gotta wait to get volume 1 and begin reading it This bites.. hopefully I get'm this weekend.

You can download it for free. I downloaded all the anime and the comic of berserk on my computer. I watch it on my computer and read the comic on widescreen. It's kewl. I highly recommend the Akira epic comic book. It's also very good. Don't ever buy the official Akira DVD because they changed the voices. Years and years ago, I managed to download the original Akira in english. The Akira they sell on DVD is not the original english version, but a redub. It's virtually impossibly to find the original Akira english dub. The cartoon is exactly the same, but the original voices were waaaay better.

It’s easily on the top of my manga list. Berserk seamlessly mixes action, drama, and dark fantasy into one well put together package. The manga is even better than the anime; as it of course continues where the animation left off, it provides a much better conclusions to the loose ends that the anime left, not to mention that due to the nature of the medium, the mangaka was able to introduce his work without censorship, resulting in a grittier and darker story. Be warned about the first few volumes, however; it starts out pretty mindless and overtly violent yet quickly rises a into very deep and gripping manga by the end of the Backswordsman Arc. Once you’re hooked it’s like a drug. I read up to around chapter 280 in the span of two weeks.

The manga was really great... I started reading the manga Monday. I read up to the most recent chapter yesterday... lol. That's how hooked I was.
