What would you guys suggest for a computer if i end up getting one over the summer. Just kinda thinking about it now.

What would be the pros, cons, or thoughts about getting a Low end Core 2 Duo or a high end single processing chip.

Like...say theres three chips, same amount of money...ones a 3.6ghrz Intel chip, ones a dual 1.6 ghrz Core 2 Duo, and ones a 3.6 AMD 64 bit chip. What would you guys go with?

Im not really sold on 64 bit computing, i just threw it in there for the hell of it.

Depends on what you're going to do

If you're a gamer, then there's no question the Conroe family of chips is superior to anything currently offered by AMD. It overclocks well and the heat is not an issue unless you're too cheap to buy a decent cooling system.

My advice would be to get an E6400 and a good cooler and oc the crap out of it. You don't need to buy the 6700 or 6800 to get the speed. Save your money and buy the slower chip, then just speed it up.
