Delusions of Divinity?
site recommendations?
Could anyone recommend any sites for good images, static or live (if that is possible from a home computer), of stars etc?
Thanks in advance, Euphrosene

Have you already tried google image search?

Delusions of Divinity?
Yes - but may not have typed in the right words and thought someone here might have a recommendation that would speed up the process.
I was looking for 'live' rather than 'static'.
Thanks anyway.

You mean like http://www.slooh.com? I dunno how often they update their so-called "live images".

The Devil is in the details
I suppose its according to what you mean by 'live'. Most deep space images, the ones that are spectacular such as from Hubble, usually require from several minutes to many hours to acquire enough light (photons) to make a good 'static' image. NASA sometimes has live video feeds recorded from the space station of scenes inside the space station or Earth's surface in sunlight. True deep space objects such as distant galaxies, or even stars, would show no observable motion in a short timeframe anyway because of their distance from us.

Many thanks. Slooh looks interesting... and yes I tried Nasa, the Royal Observatory and some others.
Good point about the distance, time delay and lack of observable movement... but at least there is an outside possibility of seeing something as opposed to photographs.
Thanks again, Euphrosene
