I saw commercials. ER, Grey's Anatomy, and Prison Break looked like soap opera's. bleck
And I don't need to eat maggots to know I wouldn't like them.

That's a bad way to judge a show. When Family Guy first came out, I didn't watch it. I thought at the time that it was just going to be another canned adult cartoon on prime timej. In fact, I didn't start watching the reruns of it until Fox cancelled it the first time. Now it's one of my favorite shows.
maggots aren't something I'd consider under a normal human diet. Granted I'm sure some peoples do eat them, but I'm sure most of society wouldn't.And I don't need to eat maggots to know I wouldn't like them.

Torchwood, Primeval, Doctor Who... I can't watch any of them for more than five minutes without feeling a bit ill.
Also crap like Robin Hood and Merlin - so called 'modern takes on old classics' with all the historical accuracy of a laptop in the Iron Age. They're always sickeningly PC and cheesy as well.

I judge everyone. Not just fat people. Saying I judge just fat people would be like accusing Southpark of making fun of just one thing.
I also like judging self-important, 40 year old 'has-been' beauty pageant contestants that are way too stupid and clueless for their age.

Friends - Total garbage, I used to sit through it with other people but I only remember laughing twice. Ever. Although I do like smelly cat.
Heroes - wtf is this crap?
Lost - yes because this makes soooo much sense too.
Sluts in the city(or whatever it's called).
Any reality TV - just, why?
Titanic - I mean an iceberg, in the Atlantic? Pff make it believable.

Well that's you off my christmas list!

My 5 fav shows of the last few years(although Dr Who goes way back). You're right though the historical inaccuracy and PC bullcrap in Robin Hood and Merlin is annoying.
Although I don't think Robin Hood is overly bad on accuracy, considering the range of the legend and it's possible interpretation.

Don't get me started on this subject - I detest commercials, for the most part... anyway, when cable TV first came out, part of their sales pitch was "commercial free" programming. That lasted about two years before they started slowly introducing advertisements back into "paid" TV. So, yes we pay to watch commercials.

In fact, I have DVR (digital video recording) and when I watch a prerecorded hour long show, I skip the commercials by fast forwarding. When I do this, I can watch the entire hour's worth of programming in 40 minutes! This means that 33% of airtime is advertisements! (granted, that ratio is on the worst channels, but even on the best it's over 20% advertisements) The whole thing is out of hand...

Oh yeah I forgot
the Office.
I used to hate King of the Hill too, but after I gave it another chance about 10 years later, I found it quite funny. There are lots of shows I used to hate but given a second chance at an older age caused me to do a complete 180. Shows like Seinfeld, Star Trek, Married with Children, the Simpsons, many of the newer cartoons on cartoon network, i hated all of them but when put my prejudices aside and I really gave some shows a chance they turned out to not be so bad after all.

That's the worst bit, Doctor Who used to be really good. David Tennant is completely overrated, he murders the part and annoys the hell out of me.
And what happened to Christopher Eccleston and Billie Piper? They were miles better!
Well, with Robin Hood it's just the way the characters are so one-dimensional. They could have done so much more with Maid Marian, but instead she's this kick-ass fighter with a secret identity. Americanised or what? The only one I like is the weedy bloke who keeps switching sides - Allan A Dale
Merlin is just unbelievably lame.
I'm guessing you're from the UK then?

04-15-09, 03:09 PM #74What have you got against The Office? If I assume you're talking about the original UK version, then I have to leap to its defence here. Ricky Gervais is an idiot but David Brent is a classic character.Originally Posted by CutsieMarie89

When you've actually worked with someone who's pretty much a real life Brent then there's not much fun in watching another one when you get home.

I quite like Tennant, I think he plays it much better than Eccleston despite having the worse storylines. I don't like any of the new companions though. The problem was always going to be that it wouldn't compare to the original, no matter how cheap and tacky the SFX were on the original. Not to mention the new one revamps all the bad guys and takes a great big shit on the originals. I still enjoy it though and have missed it greatly for years.
Her, I liked. Perfect woman or what?Well, with Robin Hood it's just the way the characters are so one-dimensional. I generally quite like the characters, but not the plots. Very Americanised I grant you but if they'd kept Marian as the weak maid who needed a man to fight her battles then the feminists would have caused trouble. That's the thing with myths and legends though, we're not sure he even existed much less all the details so there's a fair amount of poetic license afforded.
Yes, it took 3 seconds to spot the historical inaccuracy but I'm hooked, I'm so ashamed.Merlin is just unbelievably lame.
Indeed.I'm guessing you're from the UK then?

Tennant is brilliant!
The Ecc could never have pulled off the horse through mirror in The Girl In The Fireplace episode with anywhere near as much panache.
Pah! They should have stuck with Richard Greene... "Robin Hood, Robin Hood, riding through the glen..."Well, with Robin Hood it's just the way the characters are so one-dimensional.
Much more realistic on a black and white telly
Oooh god I'm old.

Heh. I do that as well. Ultra fast skip and fast forward mode during the adds.. Bliss really.
Yeah. Add those to my list.

Never got into Dr Who. Old or new versions. I'd have more fun sticking bamboo sticks under my finger nails.
