Why? How would you know before the wedding? Would you have her examined? Why does it matter? And? If a girl's virginity is that important to the guy, he should ensure the girl he marries never uses tampons, rides a bike, horse, etc, before their wedding night because they can all rupture the hymen. Now the girl can be a virgin but her hymen has been ruptured.. so how exactly does the guy check that she's 'pure' or not?
its not the wife must be a virgin, but the husband must be a virgin too, that way there is more chance of longer bond.
Bells: I think the appeal of virginity is not just the intact maidenhead, but also the whole "no other man has laid claim to her" deal. Raithere: I thought people were allowed to have their kinks without disparagement? In essence, Bells and Raithere, it is a legitimate desire some men have. No more odd than liking stockings, or people of the same sex, or big breasts, or Orientals, or any other kink that is popular.

In themselves, too, or only in others? Don't you think there's a double standard for men and women? Do you believe all men should be virgins until marriage, too? A woman isn't the property of a man.
James R.: Some men believe in self-purity, also. Yes. And a double-standard or not is irrelevant (although a double-standard is inevitable when there are differences in people). People are allowed their desires, are they not? And I am not staking a claim to this, so my opinion on whether men should or should not wait till marriage to engage in sex is rather irrelevant. Many men view it differently.

A woman's 'maindenhead' can be ruptured by many things, many of which are not intrusive upon her in any way. It can rupture while she rides a bicycle as a child for example. The woman could very well be a virgin but have an unintact hymen, does that mean she is no longer pure? My question is this, how does the man know? A medical examination can only determine that the hymen is intact or not. Again, that can happen in a varied number of non sexual ways. So how exactly does he know? And what kind of man takes a woman to be examined as though she were cattle he was having inspected before buying?
Bells: I am perfectly aware of the manifold ways a woman can break her own hymen. For some people, perhaps. Not all. Moreover, it is his tastes, not yours. Certainly not. Good faith. The aforementioned medical inspection. Far be it for me to judge a man's tastes.
This is nonsense and a very sad situation for girls in this world: clearly gender inequality. As Bells points out above, what happens if you hold this view and the girl ruptures her hymen accidentally? You can never be sure that she is a virgin. Maybe she was running and fell or was on a bicycle or was horseback riding. Should she then be ostracized from the community for life? In a Middle East country like India, depending on her religion, she would be. The couple goes inside to have sex after the marriage ceremonies, and then the ritual is that they bring out the sheet or blanket stained with the girl's hymen blood to show the society that she was a quote "pure virgin." This type of ritual behavior has to stop. I helped a girl over a fence once and I think she landed on a spike. A shock came over her face. I think I know what happened.
Well with all due respect - or undue respect - shouldn't you be taken to have a medical inspection as well? Or else, who the hell do you think you are compared to the girl? Nothing but a piece of shit!
