Thread: Why black men have a bigger penis

You never really responded to my earlier post about brain sizes and intelligence. Why would people have larger brains if they don't make them more intelligent?
Also Orientals didn't just suddenly have IQs of 106. That's a fact that's been consistent for a long time. Link me to a study that indicates they have IQs lower than 100 like you said.

I have been. Just give me a short, concise answer. If you have a good reason for thinking what you do, it should be very simple.

    sure.

Let me remind you what anyone has to do to support this statement:

    1. define races in an acceptable manner to the scientific community.
    2. show the existence of races based on this definition.
    3. define intelligence in an acceptable manner to the scientific community.
    4. show that intelligence differences are due to physiological differences.
    5. show that different races have differences in the physiology of the brain.
    6. show that these differences are due to genetic traits.

So far the first hurdle hasn't even been taken.

That actually doesn't answer my question. It was: Why would people have larger brains if the larger brains don't result in higher intelligence?

I'm saying they do. Are you saying they don't? That's what this argument has come to. There's no doubt that there is a correlation between brain size in relation to the body and intelligence. Now you seem to be doubting the relationship. Do you think intelligence results in larger brains or do you think larger brains results in higher intelligence? If so, then brain size is still an indicator of intelligence.

There absolutely MUST be a reason for an animal to keep such resource expensive tissue. If huge brains don't result in more intelligence, how else might they pay for themselves?

    3. define intelligence in an acceptable manner to the scientific community.

In the context in which we're speaking, it can be defined as: a property of mind that encompasses many related mental abilities, such as the capacities to reason, plan, solve problems, think abstractly, comprehend ideas and language, and learn.

If large brains don't make us more intelligent, then why do we have them?

  12. #332
    4. show that intelligence differences are due to physiological differences.

    From your link;
The correlation between brain size and IQ seems to hold for comparisons between and within families (Gignac et al. 2003; Jensen 1994; Jensen & Johnson 1994). However, one study found no such family-related connection (Schoenemann et al. 2000).

    4. show that intelligence differences are due to physiological differences.

  15. #335
So therefore, brain size has no influence on intelligence in general? Come on man, look at the big picture. Your argument that brain size has nothing to do with intelligence is ridiculous.

  16. #336
How can intelligence differences NOT be due to physiological differences?

  17. #337
These studies are about IQ. I thought we were talking about intelligence?

Since you are using IQ as a measure for intelligence in the previous post (which is not intelligence as you defined it before) not going to school will affect your IQ. Or not coming from the proper social background will also affect your IQ.

    It's all rather easy.

  19. #339
Okay... so it's your contention that intelligence differences aren't due to physiological differences.

In other words, do you think it's a complete coincidence that brain size correlates so strongly with IQ?

Hold on a minute. I thought we were trying to follow the rules of science and logic here.

back to the beginning for you. You don't seem to have learned anything yet:

    3. define intelligence in an acceptable manner to the scientific community.
