It is apparently only open to "full-time researchers employed by universities, hospitals and other research institutions" ( http://philica.com/register.php ). Thomas
"Researchers from other areas (e.g., government or industry) may also join as professional members. Our list of institutions is growing all the time, but clearly it is unfeasible for us to know every site on the planet. Therefore, if you are a member of an institution that is not listed below then please do contact us and ask us to add it to our list — we will arrange it very quickly."
How quickly is quickly? I'm still waiting for my current institution to be added (though some of my past institutions are already in the data base, e.g. U.C. Berkeley). No real peer review, but it does allow for non-traditional publication on a very rapid basis for the purpose of establishing priority of thought, as well as getting information 'out there'.
http://philica.com/display_article.php?article_id=13 very useful site "The belief that the Big Bang produced EMR is more an assumption than a provable fact. Supposedly, during the first microsecond of the existence of the Universe, there were hadrons, followed within a second by electrons, positrons, photons, and (maybe) neutrinos." But then you called me stupid for saying neutrinos were possibly involved in the big bang, so this guy is too yes?
yep, read my evolution thread, he slagged off a PHILICA approved accademic and then deleted the posts I copied here.
How is Philica funded? Have any Philica articles been cited in a conventional peer-reviewed journal yet?
