Where have all the really well writen storys gone, you know the ones that make you want to stay up all night reading them, or wear-out the tape till you have the whole story memorized. A story like this has not come out for a while now and I was just wondering if Caliope, the Greek muse of epics, has been slaughtered.

Or just wandered off for a holiday, waiting until braindead commercialism is dead.

What sort of stories are you after? SF? Fantasy?

all kinds any kinds all I seek is worthy story one that wets the appetite of imagination and leaves you wanting more the kinds of book that make you realize how much you love reading, the kind of movies that make you realize why the young genre began

    Short stories specifically?

I find it has to do with the reader too. I have more exacting standards than I used to.

    Oh come on!

    The Baroque Cycle! NEAL STEPHENSON?

What do you have against that?

(Stephen Baxter has a few good ones - The Manifold series)
(Verner Vinge has a new one coming out, or maybe its already out - Rainbows End, based on his short story Fast Times at Fairmont High)
