if the evolution of the universe could be broken down into 7 major stages what would those stages be? i imagine for example the movemt of biological life from water dwelling to land dwelling is a significant stage in the evolution of life. the formation of the spheres known as stars and planets, maybe another? so what other stages would be significant? see where i am going here?
The universe so far: Stage 0--- nothing exists Stage 1--- initiating of the universe where energy, matter, time, and space start to exist Stage 2--- matter and energy begin to go though varying degrees of cyclic changes (stars are born and die; matter is created or transformed). This continues to this day Stage 3--- universe becomes increasingly vast Stage 4--- Matter continully aggregates with arbitrary stuff created from the beginning becoming increasingly less common. Stuff begins to localize itself into systems Stage 5--- at some point, some clusters of matter reach a point where an occasional black hole manifests itself---the total annihilation of some forms of matter/energy is added to the mechanics of the universe Stage 6--- the billions and bilions of localized systems just sorta meander around the growing vastness of space.
stage 1. the creation of cheese stage 2. the creation of chocolate stage 3. the creation of beer stage 4. the creation of wine stage 5. rest stage 6. rest stage 7. rest
stage 5. the creation of kittens stage 6. the creation of bunnies stage 7. the creation of ducklings, of course

because i can... no; my reason is the old testament was written by some sort of ancient philosophical astro-cosmology mystical type characters. i am thinking that the symbolism and metaphors they use to describe the creation myth may have some correlation with actual cosmogensis, anthropogenesis. so exploring the unfolding of the universe in 7 major stages to identify what they where describing with their 7 days creation myth. i am not asking for people to try to interpret the symbols or to fit the 7 stages to the days, just to break their understanding of the unfolding into what they consider are the 7 major statges.
0 & 1 i would agree but i wonder could 2 & 3 be part of the stage 1. 4 i would agree too maybe the stage of system formation and organisation 5 i wonder if it could be integrated into 4 6 is this completion, in human terms liberty?
The Planck Epoch The GU Epoch Inflation The Electro-weak Epoch The Hadron Epoch Nucleosynthesis The Structure Forming Epoch
In the Planck epoch the four fundamental forces were one. This only lasted a tiny, tiny fraction of a second, but it was hugely important, because this was the first stage after the beginning of the Universe. In the GU epoch gravity separates out from the other two forces Round about now the Universe undergoes its incredibly rapid expansion, known as Inflation. The Universe is still less than 0.0000000001 seconds old and is filled with a mass of quarks and gluons In the electro-weak Epoch some other particles, like neutrinos, start to drop out of the mix. In the Hadron Epoch we get 'proper' particles, like protons and neutrons forming. Now these start to combine in the Epoch of nucleosynthesis, forming light nuclei. The Universe is now about one second old. Then we get the fairly dull bit where the nuclei acquire electrons, group together into to large structures like stars and galaxies, and life forms, and MTV gets broadcast by satellite. I think that pretty much covers it.
o...kay can we condense any of those earlier stages like the ones that happend in the first second. so as to extend the stage between formation of stars and galaxies and the mass hypnosis of the population through broadcast media???
You can. I wouldn't. If you want to split up stage 7 you have to permit this to extend beyond seven stages. Those early stages, although short, are hugely different from each other. Once you get to Stage 7 its all on familiar territory and much of a muchness.
Crap. You need to distinguish at least three stages in what you are claiming are one. 1. Local gravitational collapse creating quasars which initiate galaxy formation. 2. Emergence of Population I stars from the scattered remnants of massive Population II stars. 3. Emergence of life, on at least one planet, and its subsequent evolution to self aware entities.
is your 7 stage model complete then in your opinion because i know you where concerned with "atificial" restriction to 7 stages. why?
