Advocating racial study

I saw the thread on "Races of Europe" was closed. Too bad, as that book contains science that is still recognized today.

The study of ethnic origins is fascinating. How do we separate this from the kind of "racism" we see at KKK meetings or in the Israeli Knesset?

I can't believe they locked the Races of Europe topic. Is it that they want to deny Europeans their racial origins or they fear races like the Slavs will be criticized?

Races do exist and nature has this wonderful diversity, so let's preserve it.

I think it's just blind fear. Kaczynski had it right: people who are unstable need pity to feel good about themselves. Unscientific, yes, it is.

I agree that there are differences between people from other places: the results of evolution and to deny that would be extremely stupid. Let's see what the dictionary has to say about this:

"1. A local geographic or global human population distinguished as a more or less distinct group by genetically transmitted physical characteristics."

"5.a An interbreeding, usually geographically isolated population of organisms differing from other populations of the same species in the frequency of hereditary traits. A race that has been given formal taxonomic recognition is known as a subspecies."

Heck, there needn't even be physical characteristics:

"2. A group of people united or classified together on the basis of common history, nationality, or geographic distribution: the German race."
