i have already gone to tools options general
i have tried using my bookmark for sciforums, i have went to sciforums and clicked on use current i have even typed the page by hand

no matter what i do my homepage reverts back to a blank page

my question is can i reinstall firefox to reset it

or is there a program that i can download to get rid of this frikken highjacker?

well, I would try restarting first, then re-installing firefox, then I would try a program called "hijackthis". hijack this is a crude, but effective, program for this type of problem. I am not sure if that type of problem is a registry problem, but there is a program you could try just in case. its called CW shredder (I think, its been a while since I have been infected) that might fix it.

also, you should run adaware and webroot spy weeper. I never have spy sweeper turned off.

Strictly speaking, wouldn't a hijack involve resetting your current home page to something else - not resetting it to blank? Bit of an odd hijacking if the plane isn't going anywhere...

    Maybe they were nihilists?

    i rebooted (cold boot)
    same shit

it wouldn't matter spurious, it would revert back to a blank page as soon as i restarted firefopx

i also thought about highjack this, i am currently looking around for some easy fixes. i emailed the provider of the program, milsheild setup.exe, for a solution

i also believe, like cato, that it must be a registry problem

it's a reality mr. anonymous my homepage has been highjacked to a blank page

for everyone, AVOID MIL SHEILD LIKE THE FRIKKEN PLAGUE !!!

    edit
for some reason this problem does not affect IE
but IE was not my default browser
so i hope a reinstall of firfox will solve the problem

Maybe this highjacking is sponsored by IE?

spuriserious, or spurisaurus, if you say those two words enough it could be quite pornographic

i am deeply honored and humbled by your magnificent and majestic presence

Is it spyware? Hijackthis should solve almost anything.

    have you scanned for adware?

i run adaware as soon as i got done installing the program
it's something i do after EVERY program install
    it found no critical objects

have no idea if its spyware or not

whatever it is it has something to do with the following
it either highjacks the default browser or it highjacks firefox

IE is not my default browser and it was unaffected

    problem solved

i just received the following email from mil shield tech support

There is no need to reinstall your OS at all. Just start Mil Shield, click the Settings button on the left side of the program, then click the “How to clean?” window to open it. In the field with label “Start page:” type the address of the page that you want to use as start page and then close the settings windows (click the X button in the “What to clean?” window) and click the Clean button on the left side of Mil Shield – this will set the typed web address as a start page of both Firefox and Internet Explorer.

I had the same problem once, it was interesting. A McAfee sweep got rid of it
