In more than one thread that I've read through on this forum, I've noticed a lot of people address that idea of release from one's emotions. How one would lead a perfectly peaceful lifestyle without attachment to something so fickle. The reply most give is that life would be boring without emotions like love and hate.
It is my philosophy, however, that when one releases their emotions, they are not cutting themselves off from them, they are simply not holding onto them anymore. You can still feel love and hate, but you do not DESIRE to feel them, you do not strive for them. It is also my philosophy that when one truly achieves this peace that can only be achieved by letting go one's emotions, that the peace is as a river, it is strong, intense, constant, unlike emotions which come and go as the wind.
