Grey's are just the creation of a bunch of Psychiatrists that utilise equipment to implant the notion of aliens. You'll notice a number of accounts based upon things like "Hypnotic regression", well Hypnotic regression allows for illusions to be greatly manifested, again with such equipment it's possible to insert a view of reality that isn't reality. For instance making a yellow car register blue in your brain.

There have only been two conclusions that I've ever come to over the "sensationalising" of aliens and UFO's, One is that Hollywood has multiple box offices smashes based upon "Aliens" without such aliens being a Myth/Urban Legend they would have no audience for that particular genre. Another is that particular self-impossed heirarchal figures in certain areas of medical profession both make work for themselves and potentially study people that are misused to help generate their accomplishments through such studies.

The latter is based on how the Nazi Psychiatrists invented many different techniques and methods to abuse people for "Egenic control over their perfect society", and who also were preportion to how Hitler rose into power.
