The weird bit was that not being sure if there was a double 'l' in the word, I went to M-W ... and lo, no 'gullible', no gulible'! So, I went to Google and came up with the NY Times 'Word of the Day', the URL that I posted even though confused as to what was going on.

As I said, weird.

Just wanted to add that I'm sorry I "caught" you with the joke. I wasn't really trying to fool anyone, I just thought that the joke was so well known that no one would fall for it. I guess I am really showing my age

BTW, here is a link to a good online dictionary. I use it often, especially when reading some of the posts here at SciForums...too many people with advanced vocabularies for me
