Since we humans are deeply programmed to want/need to reproduce, it seems more likely to me that even a women not wanting to get pregnant may have a subconsiously deeper level of satisfaction when <ahem> feeling herself get filled with seed. (My, I feel like a cheap porn writer just saying those few words!)

Out of curiosity, why is the title "Semen is the new christ"?

I mean, just because it supposedly makes people happy, which I kind of doubt, does not really justify such a title, or is there some religios aspect I missed? Perhaps the women did not feel happier because of the semen, but rather because they got fucked for real. Also, would it make someone happier if I butter his/her bread with my sperm? I seriously doubt that.

But hey, if semen is the new christ, why not make LSD the new god?

Yes the title is a little weird but I think that off topic

I think the deep psychological/instinctual urge to get inseminated may cause more fulfilling (giggle) sex which in turner upbeats moral and mood. I hardly see how a few ml of semen could be that powerful of an endorphin stimulant it improve mood for several days. The vaginal walls are not extremely permeable either (probably no more so then the throat or under the eye lids)

Only real test would be somehow a double-blind test - but it would be likely pretty tricky to fake it to a women!

Yea, I thought so too, just some drops of semen surely cannot change the mood so drastically. Furthermore, what about the man who has the semen inside him all the time? I mean, in the article it was mentioned that gays might also experience similar changes in their mood. That would mean the rectum would be just as receptive, one could conclude that a potent male who always produces more sperm everyday must be quite happy.

Perhaps women get more aroused when penetrated without a condom, which might improve their happyness, or those that used condoms did this because they had changing partners. They might not have received as much love as those in a stable relationship where no condoms are used.

There might also be other possibilities, my post is pure speculation anyway since there was no mention of the womens´ relationships.

But hey, if anyone wants to experiment, ejaculate on a piece of bread and eat it, do so for some weeks and tell me if it made you happier. Thinking about that, I would assume that the vaginal wall is about as permeable as the normal skin, or at least similar to tender/more receptional skin like mouth, eyes, genital organs (like a foreskin or so) or nose.

No it would not, lets see compare women in 2 groups, one is given sterilized semen (sperm and pathogens kill by say irradiation), the other is give a placebo, both are administered with turkey basters.

Semen (hormonally) won't do FA to a women, - females produce 1/3 the amount of testosterone that males do (A-Level Bio). Some come won't make any difference.

Sexual release might though...

I think the person will know that it's not butter . . .

Maybe these girls feel better cuz they are closer to the guy they're having sex with. There isn't a latex barrier between them. It could be a symbolic thing. Also, maybe the girl can feel the semen being ejaculated into her. I dunno, though.
