I'm in 12th grade, and am seriously considering majoring in genetics (molecular biology/biochemistry) in college next year. I'm trying to find out which colleges in the Eastern US are especially good in genetics, and I haven't been able to get a few specific suggestions from anyone on which colleges to look in to. I'd appreciate any recommendations anyone has to offer. Thanks in advance!

For undergraduate studies, it really does not matter a whole lot because you will be studying a lot of other junk but needed courses with your major. Any decent college that you can afford and get into will do. Where it matters is going into MS and PhD where you need hefty laboratory and computers (in case of Bioinformatics).

If you join a BioTech company after BS, that is where you will learn much more, since Universities are usually 2 years behind in Technology (except a very few, whose professors consult to the industry and you will be lucky to get anything out of them).
