"What do you mean?" she asked

"Are you going to go back to a normal life?" I asked

"I suppose I can't..."

"Come with me." I said

"I can't, I'd be more useful on the inside anyways, I'll try and keep in touch." she said

"Alright, I'll see what I can do." I said

I got up.

"Wait, just one more question, why 'zero'?" she asked

"Heh, that's what the others... my friends nicknamed me." I said

"But why?"

"Because I was 'Subject ID 00000'." I said


An hour later I was at the bottem of the mountain only to be trapped by a very pissed off Jacob. "Your twelve fucking hours late." he said

"Sorry, had some business to attend to." I said.

OOC: Well, they didn't exile them. In the beginnings of the program before they could make super soldiers by modifying certain genes they had to know what each modification did. You can't just cut up a hundred or so sequences, switch them out with no knowledge of what the effects are and expect a new soldier.

So the idea is that a while ago they laid the groundwork by taking embryos and only modifying two, maybe three seperate genes and depending on the results they would know what effect they had.

My guys was focused mainly on the aspect of longevity, the ability to stay consciouss and endure unnatural stresses, as well as live absurdly long. The problem is that the program pretty much always stressed things to the max, a super soldier that takes a decade just to reach five years of age isn't too helpful.

Since those were the first genetic manipulations on which everything else was based off of they named themselves the fundamentals. But they were pretty much tossed out rather then banished and left to die. The reason I say my guy is probably the only one alive is because he is the only one they manipulated longevity with and since it was decades before the others would have died from natural causes by then, in theory.

Well, yeah they are abandoned. And ESSCPA is now hunted, but my guys left.

He went over one of his men's bodies and picked up their carbine, he looked down and said,

"Sorry mate, I am no chaplain,"

He went back to his rescuers, they secured their immediate area, two more came over, and took of their helmets, he was surprised again,

"Bull! Rusty!"

Those are their old nicknames, they are the last survivors of Lima Team, the rest perished and lay resting in Vereka 1. The Vichi Empire took the blunt and contributed the most to the Verekan War, the were the main force of the invasion. They made the Verekan pay for the attack on the Venus Sector, a prominent sector of the Vichi Empire, amongst other sectors, but Venus was utterly devastated, the first time humanity have faced that kind of destruction, it was the first one attacked and received the full wrath of the bloody Verekans, to just prove a fucking point! The war in the end also won favor for the Vichi Imperial Clan, where imperial sons fought and died along the regular soldiers in space and on the surface, no.....not quite right, in that war, they were regular soldiers. They fought and died protecting citizens of the Vichi Empire and to enforce justice. The princes requested that their body be in the same caskets as their comrades, to be buried alongside the men that held the line behind them. It was a costly war, where entire armadas were destroyed. However, all of them held the line, knowing that they might never see a sunrise on Earth again. It was when the finest of the Empire showed their true colors. It also showed the evil of man, the Imperials included, in atrocities committed in the war, real horrendous atrocities have been committed, entire sectors were devastated and rendered lifeless on both sides. He wasn't proud of some of the things he saw and done himself, and of some of the blood on his hands. He left the army for that very reason, he had too much blood on his hands, and he is sick and tired of seeing his comrades fall and him surviving. However if he had to fight that war all over again, he would, because to him at least, it was a just war, if they Verekans, or anybody invaded his homeland, he would once again take up arms and defend his country by any means necessary.

"Nice to see you again sarge, no time for reunions, we got a battle to fight," Bull said,

Gunny punched his shoulder and said,

"Just like old times eh?"

He said solemnly,

"Yeah, old times,"

Gunny put his helmet back on,

"Channel 14432-Alpha-Red Sarge,"

He switched to that channel,

"Captain Williams, we have found a trapdoor sir,"

"Secure the entrance, wait for us,"

He then said after a short while with a chuckle,

"A Captain? Gunny, you became a Captain? I thought you said they'd have to kill you to make you an officer?"

"Well, they convinced me the retirement pensions are better, but to Lima Team, I am still Gunnery Sergeant,"

"Well, I ain't going to call you sir,"

They arrived at the trapdoor, he then opened it and shinned a light down, there is a corridor, he said,

"I am going down first,"

I heard in the background, "yeah its me charlie, how's it going?" from some radiomen chattering.

I was about to go over and kick his ass when Jacob intercepted me "what do you think of this." he said pointing to the newspaper. I saw the picture of a burning down mansion.

"I think its magnificent." I said

he looked pissed

"alright alright, just give me a second before you point out the error of my ways, I have to kick someone's ass at the moment." I said

I walked over to the radio operator and ripped the power cable out of the wall.

"One, do not ever use names! And two, this isn't a fucking telephone!" I yelled, and that got everyone else's attention.

I walked back over to Jacob, took the newspaper from his hands and walked to the door. "This isn't fucking pre-k you guys!." I yelled as I walked out the door.

I openned up the newspaper and looked at that picture again, "da Vinci would be proud." I thought to myself.

"Sir we have detected ships entering the system, they are bulk cargo ships sir, Reformist League ID,"

A sensor operator reported, the Chief of Police and the Military Police commander both were present, they had no idea when the military will arrive, the fleet is recalled from the exercise, and Vichi Command have ordered ships from nearby sectors to arrive, it is a top priority command. The 105th Imperial Frontier Expeditionary Fleet, and the 112th Imperial Frontier Defense Fleet have scrambled. The Vichi Imperial Navy is know for their speed, aid should come any time now.

"Order them to leave, we are in a crisis at the moment,"

"Yes sir,"

The operator then opened all universal channels, including universal distress channel,

"By order of the Vichi Empire, you are hereby ordered to turn around and leave this sector immediately, I repeat, you are too leave immediately,"

He waited a while, then reported,

"No response sir,"

"Try again,"

"Yes sir,"

"By order of the Vichi Empire, you are hereby ordered to turn around and leave this sector immediately, I repeat, you are too leave immediately," he pronounced again, no response,

"Sir, they are not acknowledging, they appear to be accelerating"

"Try again, this time, tell them they are to stop and wait to be escorted out of the system and to an Imperial Naval Base,"

"Yes sir,"

"By the order of the Vichi Empire, you are hereby ordered to stop and wait for escort out of this system and to an Imperial Naval Base,"

As before, no acknowledgement,

"Give them one last warning," the MP commander ordered,

"Roger,"

"By the order of the Vichi Empire, you are hereby ordered to stop and wait for escort out of this system and to an Imperial Naval Base, your engines are to power down immediately, along with your shields, failure to comply may result in a forced removal, where lethal force is authorized," again they were ignored.

I walked out.

"It was so much simpler when it was soldiers." I said

"yah, comeon lets get a drink." Jacob said grabbing my shoulder and we both walked away.

"You know, for an alien menace from the great beyond your not so bad." jacob said

"For a dirt poor extremist fanatic your not so bad yourself." I said

"here, got you something." I pulled out a cube

"What is it?" she asked

"Its called a rubix's cube, its a puzzle and I figured you'd like it." I said

"thanks, ugh, what do I do?"Aria said

"Oh, you try and make it so all six sides have a solid color, in the decades I've had it I haven't gotten past three sides." I said "I figured you might have better luck, its a little worn out but it works pretty well."

"thanks." she said

"If you dont like it I coul..."

"No really, I love it" she said

she bent over and gave me a peck on the cheek

I blushed, "Aren't I a little over your age?" I asked

"Hah, just because you've been 18 for a decade doesn't mean your not eighteen." she said

"Yes sir, Black Sun squadron is closest, they will be on scene in 2 minutes,"

Two minutes went by, it felt a lot longer, the situation was tense, the cargo ships stopped, he took off his headset, and breathed easy. Suddenly, their screens turned to static,

"Sir we lost visual!" He was furious, something happened to the cameras. They scrambled to get it back, when they finally did, it was grim, two cargo ships exploded, and the others left.

"Sir, we lost the signal from Black Sun squadron.....they have been taken out in the explosion,"

Everyone was tense, they had no idea what went on, they had their guesses, but they are just guesses, after a few minutes,

"Sir! Top-priority message sir! Text-only!"

"Bring it up on screen,"

The message stated that the reinforcement fleets have just been intercepted by and engaged the Reformist League Combined Fleet without provocation and warning, reinforcement is not possible at the moment, they are to hold out until the matter have been resolved.....

The explosion rocked the building.

"George, george whats happening!" I yelled

"I don't know sir." he yelled

"we need to get out of here, now!" I yelled

"Comeon" I grabbed his shirt and dragged him. The explosions kept pouring like rain.

"To the tunnel everyone!" I yelled, we got to the cellar and openned the secret hatch.

"Get in, hurry!" george yelled.

We managed to get in and escape before I set off the self destruct, leave no trace.

"They managed to capture one of the super soldier's suits and they've been making prototypes." jacob yelled

"Weve gotta move before it finds us." jacob said

if only I had my suit.

He, gunny, bull and rusty went down first. He shinned his spotlight down the corridor, then they motioned for the rest of the Section 9 troopers to climb down, but leaving 2 to guard the entrance. Reverting back to their old roles, he took command, well after all this is his raid. He gave the hand signal to advance slowly and carefully. They walked down the corridor, quietly and stealthily, maintaining comms silence. They got to a door, the demo man came and examined it, it was a durable blast door, he motioned everyone to get clear, and the demo man set up the charges and blew the door open, what they saw were bad news for them....

OOC: One of my people's? My people have never been captured. Even if they could somehow reverse engineer it ( how can they without capturing one? ), the MS used by my people can only piloted by my people, because it will be too complicated, only Super Soldiers can operated it. There are models made by the Vichi Empire that a well-trained person could pilot, perhaps it captured an Imperial one.

OOC: Even if none of your people have been captured, I doubt there aren't some that haven't died, if one gets killed while sleeping or resting on a scouting mission and they find the suit then that means it was captured.

And one of your guys did get captured once if I recall correctly.

I dunno how they do it, I figure maybe something like a neural link combined with some sort of interferance effect like atropine on muscles, you link damage sensors and touch sensors to normal pain neurons and muscles nerves to main body servos.
