Why medieval tech?
The reason why I picked things like slipstream is because chances are that we are more than a few galaxies away from home, I figure an advanced slipstream is the only real way to get home.
Anyways, a ship needs a deflector. It doesn't take much common sense to know what happens when a ship of this size hits an asteroid of a fraction of it's size at several times the speed of light.

Cool, I am going for military medical research ( after I finish schooling, which might take me a while......... ), I am thinking of a MD plus a dual PhD. I know one of the PhDs is going to be genetics, not sure about the other, thinking about pathology, neurology, biochemistry and more...
I am not even close to finish high school ( contrary, just started ), so dunno which university. For in Canada, I am going for U of T or McGill ( Best two in Canada ), but I want to strive for more.
Oh well, I would just try to do my VERY VERY best and think about it in grade 12.Last edited by Shogun; 09-08-10 at 07:51 PM.

Because we decided on it first, so that is why.
Lol, the only way we would be able to get back is through a wormhole again. The reason why I picked things like slipstream is because chances are that we are more than a few galaxies away from home, I figure an advanced slipstream is the only real way to get home.
Lol, I got better explanation for a deflector, or I can eliminate the need for one using Super String Theory. It will be too complicated so I won't say anything about it.Anyways, a ship needs a deflector. nice. now back to the game.
We finally docked at the station and I was met with some high ranking official.
"Welcome to yahel" he said politely, "are you Kato?"
"I am" I said with a smile
"Come, we have much to discuss" he said
OOC: Do you want to play the minister? It may make the dialogue more realistic, not that you couldn't play Shin. That way you can add your own flair to the character so it doesn't just seem like Kato and his twin brother talking to each other because I'm making both dialogues with the same style.

You mean this?

I like the idea of a deflector because it doesn't just serve the purpose of deflecting asteroids or as a secondary shield. Think of it as a gigantic emmitter that can emit a wide spectrum of particles and rays and other such things. It is simply just a very large emitter array.

Lol, I meant the one with 28 dimensions.
I have no problem with it, it is all for fun, just saying for the record this is not science.I like the idea of a deflector because it doesn't just serve the purpose of deflecting asteroids or as a secondary shield. You gotta admit, if it were science 70% of this would be you and me debating the science, 25% omega telling us to get back to the story, and 5% story telling.
So do you want to be the minister so that we can have two unique characters? Maybe that is how we should do missions, each one of us rotates as being in that sort of role, you know what I mean? I feel like if I for example were to try to act both characters it would be like talking to a mirror. It feels okay at first, but you can't shake the feeling that you are going insane.

I would love to work for NASA. But if the space industry takes off (no pun intended) I may be interested to work in Lockheed or boeing. what I want to do is do something no one else has done before, hence why I would love NASA. But the private companies would give me more toys to work with.

Lol yeah, remember the other times we debated science in this and similar threads for pages on end?

ATD-X.....
Chemicals.....
Much more.....
5%, pretty good proficiency
I am just joking
Lol okay, I am not for the medieval idea since we are the only ones on right now, we can do it after this when more people get back.So do you want to be the minister so that we can have two unique characters? NASA will give you more toys, private military contractors you will make more money. I am going for military though ( maybe just for 1 term of service, then I will go to a private military contractor or a university, then again, I might go career ), more equipment, no need to ask for volunteers for a experiment, security clearance .ect. But I would be stuck in school for quite a while, cuz I would have to go through OCS ( Officer Candidate School ) as well.

The entire scenario played out in the ops room, they remained calm and quite, although more vigilant and cautious. Shin calculated his rough probabilities, not too rough, it is to the nearest whole tenths, which is good enough. He began thinking of the scenarios, ignoring the peace scenarios, those are not his job. He is thinking of the combat scenarios and how would he direct the battle. He began planning on different hostile scenarios quickly, but not ignoring quality in the least. He didn't stop them from docking to the spacedock, he would like the maps as well. They are after all in uncharted space, there are certain advantages and he would take advantage of them, their sensors worked differently, the enemy won't know the ship in battle mode and with all weapons charged and ready. After Kato left the ship, he assumed command. He then pressed the alarm, he then ordered over the intercom
"Code Red, General Quarters, General Quarters, man battle stations! All pilots to their ships, all marine are to be combat ready, we will prepare for battle at a moments notice,"
Shin then sent a telepathic message to his squad of Shadows,
"Get to your Mobile Suits and prepare the gunship for battle,"
Meanwhile....
The minister lead Kato the a conference room, he sat down on one end of the table and motioned for Kato to sit down on the other end.
"I am the Minister of Supernatural Countermeasures and Prevention, Toru Kanze,"

"Okay?" I said
"Are you the normal ambassador?" I said
"We were just hoping to get some information."
OOC: You can decide where this goes if you like.

"No, this is a special case. We at the Ministry of Supernatural Countermeasures and Prevention have detected a supernatural presence at this vicinity, perhaps a potential supernatural threat, in simpler terms, we detected supernatural beings, in other words, psychics in this vicinity, we believe on your ship, we have sent Special Combat Fleet 4, and Special Countermeasures Division here, do you know anything about it?" Toru said,
He then continued,
"If you cooperate with us, you can get all the information you want,"

"Our mission is to capture and/or eliminate potential causes of supernatural disasters of Orbin Republic, and to protect Orbin and its allies of supernatural threats, disturbances and disasters," he said formally, he then continued, "Two of the supernaturals on your ship or the sector is particularly strong, one much stronger than the other, if they clears and is clean, and they join us, there will be good consequences,"
He then said,
"Your cooperation is necessary for trade to occur,"

OOC: I thought we decided you were a relatively weak psychic. Oh well
"Look, I cannot hand over a crewmember until he has done something wrong. We just want to make the trade and move on, chances are you may never hear from us again. But I cannot allow anyone to take a bridge officer from my ship for any alien race that says I should."
"Now, what do you want for star charts? We have industrial replicators in two of our six storage bays that can replicate materials on an industrial scale."
OOC: Although admitteadly there are a lot of complex things a replicator cannot create.

Out of Game: I changed it to two psychics that are very strong, one stronger than the other. Yeah one of them is me, strong for a psychic, yet psychics aren't like THAT strong, they get stronger with control and training, but not like OMG strong. I am thinking of supernatural disasters as in psychics, spiritual beasts ( stronger but not sentient, very very few experienced psychics can summon them ), and supernatural phenomenon. Here is a hint: The stronger of the two strongest psychics is not me, I have someone in mind.
In Game:
Shin felt something after they docked to the spacedock, a very large concentration of psionic energy. Shin closed his eyes and concentrated as hard as he could, it is not just one source, there are a multitude sources, it reminded him of the SHADOWS training station. He can't believe he haven't detected them earlier, probably psi-screens. He can sense through psi-screens with no problem at close range, it is thanks to his natural talent. He knew something was wrong.....
Meanwhile......
"We just want to talk to them, the terms can be negotiable, their protection will be guaranteed, and how we can guarantee that can be negotiable. Whether they join our ministry or not, it is their own personal choice. Once they are a part of the ministry, their terms of service can be negotiable, their conditions can be negotiable, I might be authorized to allow them to continue to serve on the ship as well as in our ministry. They might be a supernatural threat, or a very valuable ally. Even if they do not join us, we will still trade and you will never hear from us, but we must talk with them," the Minister said,
"Trade can commence after this process,"
