Set the alarm clock to go off at a time when you're normally asleep. If you are having a
dream when that happens, you'll remember it. Turn on the light and write down as much of
the dream as possible, otherwise you'll forget it.

Does that really work? If it does, I may just give it a try tonight.

When you set it for is very important. Do some searches on google to determine when you would be dreaming with your sleep cycle.
Also, it helps that after you wake up, go back to sleep for about an hour and have the alarm go off again.

we doing this? Quite simply, we are all prone to slipping into REM sleep if
woken and then going back to sleep. When the alarm goes off the 2nd time,
you will probably awake from a dream.

Most important to remembering dreams is that you need to wake naturally...this means without disturbance such as alarm clock, loud noises, etc.
Sleep is in 1 1/2 hour cycles I do believe, so attempt to schedule it as such. Most often though you will find that waking natually often allows you to remember most of your dreams.
If you would like to control your dreams there is a form of hypnosis, in a way. Listening to a constant sound at a constant tempo and slowly falling into a sleep like state can create a sort of vivid day dream.
Wondering if this works with music? Any thoughts?

thinking about it (circulating the ol' memory).
