CN Tower
The CN Tower in Toronto is the world's tllest building at 1,815 feet (553 meters).

I work right across the street, and my employment gives me free access to the tower. So, I've been going up the tower every Friday just for fun.
The ride takes 52 seconds. From the observation deck, you can see for miles and miles. The neat part is the glass floor. It is rather... disturbing to walk over it. Here are some pics:

And the glass floor:

This is me standing on the glass deck.

Thanks for the pics. If you wonder why, it's because I've never been there, though my parents and big bro have,. okay, they took some pics, so the ones you showed just add up.
Now I wonder how freezing it is there.... the pictures are full of snow....

I have been there on several different occasions. I really never liked the glass floor. Tell me, do they still have the rotating piano by the restuarant? I havent been there in a while.

Glass floors are already disturbing if there is only one floor underneath, let alone 500 meters...
But I would walk on the glass of course, just to get a thrill.

Truly, Canada is a land of wintery death, the harbor in Toronto a thousand clashing blades of ice, starving for the blood of innocent Canadians. A marvel.

In finland several people each year die because of falling ice from roofs. I wonder of this tower is a mass murderer?

Uhmm..
1. Tallest Tower is KTHI-TV tower (ND) = 629 m (2063 ft.)
2. Tallest free-standing-structure is Amerada Hess 'BALDPATE COMPLIANT TOWER' is about 1900 ft
3. Tallest building(s) are the Petronas Towers at 1483 ft.
So there you are. It can be argued that the CN Tower is the tallest BUILDING but come-on, It is hardly a building.

Oh yes the good ole CN, the world's tallest "free standing structure" one cannot really call it a building, because it's purpose to not to house people, but to rather be a communications tower. I was downtown in a thunderstorm, and I seen lightning hit the antenna at the top of the tower, it was a sight to behold I should say. If you come to Toronto, you have to go to the good ole CN.

Besides the fact that it freaks the bajeebus out of me to look through glass floor, it looks darn cold up there!

"Okay, everybody, to the LEFT of the tower!"
*tower sways left*
"Now everyone to the RIGHT!"

Don't get me wrong. It is impressive and even something to be proud of. But it's not the tallest anything.
Alright! The CN tower is the tallest freestanding LAND structure. Happy torontonians?!

Taipei 101 is mind boggling. It holds the record for tallest floor, tallest roof, tallest top.
