Do you think all intelligent life would evolve such that they can be conditioned with pain and pleasure?

Or to expand that, negative and positive feedback.

Negative and positive feedback as in addition or subtraction or good and bad because they are used differently in biology and psychology.


If it is the latter then pain is a beneficial feature in species...it is there for our survival and protection from..well ourselves.
