I've always been slightly perplexed at the ignore function, and the need for such a function in a forum which essentially there to facilitate greater communication.
I have never used this function, and probably never will, and i'm not even sure how it works, I mean do you know if you have been put on ignore by another member?
Anyway, on to my question. I'm curious as to how many members are currently ignoring someone.
be honest, dont have to name who, just say , yeah i have 1, 2 ..or however many.

I have never used it myself...no need to ignore people...the whackos are the funniest to read from..although i do know some people that use the ignore list....you cannot ignore the mods however...*shakes fist*..."power driven madmen they are"

I've always thought that the ignore function is wrong. Everyone has the right to say something whether another person finds it offensive or not. I onced blocked someone in the Religion section but found myself clicking on 'view post' so I took them off.

The ignore function is useless in my point of view. If you don't want to read it, don't

I will not ignore anyone, because it is the sickest thing anyone can ever do.

I'd rather insult someone than ignore them, because it is more humane.

well this is it. I think that it's a nonsensical "fucntion" to have, and it really seems to be defunct.
I was thinking of other functions that would be of more use, maybe one that would allow you to know when another member is viewing your profile, or maybe a spell checker, I mean there's one on the PM function.

I once had Joeman on ignore but that was a long time ago. The ignore function is pointless.

id rather see the report function gone myself

it is conter productive

but anyway the ignore list is there so that its quicker to skim i guess

only shows the people you WANT to read then rather than scrolling through pages of text from people you dont

I was considering blocking Abdulla over in WE&P simply because I've never seen him post a thread without the word "Joo's" in it. He's not particularly original, but everyone deserves to be heard until rightfully banned (Which he was -- theAZCowboy.) This as opposed to AM, who, although disagrees with me a lot, makes a positive effort towards sense.

Doesn't matter, though. The ignore function is there, and should stay there because people have the choice. I've just never had any reason to use it.
