    Tomorrow is Imbolc.

This is a day for pagans to celebrate the coming of spring. Winter is beginning to lose its hold over the earth, and it is a time to plant seeds. Not only seeds of plants and other foliage, but mental seeds of goals you wish to accomplish in the coming season.

The Goddess is young again, and the God is a child. As he grows, so will the seeds you have planted, so best be sure you have planted seeds that you actually wish to have grow. Now is the time to throw out any seeds of anger, jealousy, resentment, and negativity.

Pagans will be celebrating the beginnings of the spring by lighting candles and bonfires. To protect a home for the new year, pagans place lit candles in their windows, especially any that face the street. Novice witches are completing a year of study and being initiated into their covens, if they are one of the more traditional groups.

This day is also a special day to gauge weather for the coming season. Nowadays we try to see how the groundhog behaves on this day, but just looking at the weather will give you an idea of what is to come. (The weather for the coming season will generally be opposite of the weather on Imbolc.)

I wish each and every one of you a happy, warm Imbolc. May your seeds grow tall and your crops be prosperous - whether these be vegetable crops or spiritual/personal ones. If you are comfortable with it, light a candle or small fire to encourage spring to come our way, and take some time to do some spiritual spring cleaning. Throw away any negative seeds, and your season will be full of love.

Love and light to you all!

    MoonCat,

Thank you kindly, and I wish the same for you as well! I hope your Imboc is a warm one, but I'm wishing for a cold Imbolc for myself so the rest of the season will be nice and warm where I live!

Bright Blessings to you, my friend!

Thank you kindly m'dear! Though, since I like cold weather, I'm rather hoping for a sunny Imbolc.

Waves of emerald green light to you, my friend. A happy Imbolc to you and yours!

    Cool

    MoonCat--

Regardless of what groundhogs might say ... may Winter's shadow walk behind you, and the bounty of your hopeful harvest be true.

Thank you for the kind sentiments ... the world needs more of this kind of hope

    thanx,
    Tiassa

Take a side you say, it's black and gray. And all the hunters take the hunted merrily out to play. We are one, you say, but who are you? You're all too busy reaping in the things you never sown. And this feast must go on and on and on .... Nobody gives a damn. (Floater; "Beast")
