as a heterosexual male who shares the views of most feminists, i'm amazed at how quickly the dialogue in these posts, coming from my fellow men, degraded so into abuse against Susan. The point that Tyler was trying to make was entirely contradicted by his aggressive and degrading tone. Tyler, you are literally the red flag she was looking for.
And yes, there are instances of sexism in both directions, but when 99.9% of inter-gender domestic violence and rape is perpetrated by men against women, it is clear why women shy away from acts such as leering and whistling, and unwanted sexual male attention.
Fine, you don't mind unsolicited female attention. But try to imagine those females looking like a pack of hairy, knuckle-dragging, dangerous neanderthals. They follow you, wiggle their tongues at you, and grab your ass as you walk by. They would have you running the other way.
Did you know that 1 out of every 3 women have been violently raped in their lives? If this statistic applied to you and your male-buddies, i wonder if you would be capable of developing empathy, for mothers, and sisters, and daughters of the world.
