Rick Perry says President Obama isn't doing enough to stop immigrants from coming over. Rick Perry wants "boots on the ground." Rick Perry says who knows we could have a hurricane and then where would these immigrants go? Rick Perry doesn't wanna talk about the law that Bush passed that mandates taking in immigrants from non-contiguous countries. Rick Perry blames everything on Obama.

Rick Perry wants to be elected president in 2016....meh!

Here is my analogy for the immigration debate. Say you own a home and suffer roof damage in a storm. The rain coming in the house, through the holes in the roof, causes all types of damage from the ceilings to walls, to floors and to furniture. The storm ends. The insurance adjustor sees the damage and gives you the money needed to fix this; minus the deductible.

The first contractor comes in to explain his plan for restoration. He wants to begin his work on the inside of the house, making the walls and ceiling look good. He decides to fix the roof as the last step. The problem with this approach is, although it is clear today, if it rains tomorrow or next week, the entire house, including the restoration work will be damaged, since the roof still leaks. Only a corrupt or incompetent contractor would do it that way. The next guy says, he will fix the roof first and use the rest of the budget to restore the inside as much as possible. An honest contractor would do the roof first (secure the border) and then deal with restoring the original water damage; strain on resources. This way the fix is more permanent.

Most Americans, if they see the roof is fixed and the leak is stopped, will have more compassion for those who are here. The corrupt contractor approach that does not fix the roof first, creates the impression of a scam leading to a money pit. The insurance company may not pay again, if the home owner is so dumb as to go along with a backward approach that has high risk of failure. The corrupt will nevertheless push this forward and may need to manipulate with emotional appeal of a confidence game.

It's the thing to do if you are a reublican. Obama is responsible for all republican short comings. The republican governor in my state is blaming Obama for the near billion dollar and growing trinkle down economics hole in his budget.

I think you should give up analogies and perhaps take up comedy.

Does he say what he wants the drones to do? Maybe he thinks some of these kids have been getting lost or waylaid while trying to find the Border Patrol, and we should help them.

Has anyone found a solid estimate of the number of these kids who were sent like this because border security has been tightened in recent years? The ones whose parents can no longer get to visit them, the ones whose parents can no longer get across reliably, the ones who if they crossed with their families would be immediately sent back with them, etc.

Or a solid estimate of the number who are blowback refugees from US foreign policy in Central America? The ones whose parents have been threatened, dispossessed, or killed by US backed forces in furtherance of US mandates or influences?
