Think carefully. I nominate: "Stairway To Heaven" by Led Zepplin "Freebird" by Lynard Skynard "Comfortably Numb" by Pink Floyd .....ok and maybe "Where The Streets Have No Name" by U2..
Only 3? That's not going to happen because there's to many great rock tunes that are out there. I too can't name only 3 but will list 3 that are part of my top 100 rock tunes. 1. 2. I agree. Here are three of my all-time favorites, and I'll be surprised if any of you are even familiar with one of them: The Strawbs: Beside the Rio Grande https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aH4WTcxeRhI Bless the Brits, they never bought into our own nostalgic vision of the "Frontier." World Party: Put the Message in the Box https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DXDJbqws3MY Saw them live a few weeks ago. This song was everybody's favorite. It was written in the 1990s, but it sounds like a long-lost track by Dylan, the Stones or the Dead. Jann Arden: Where No One Knows Me https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8lGDsuALCsU The ladies love this one. I love the line "Tore my rear-view mirror down and wrapped it in my wedding gown." What a great way to say, "I'm gettin' the fuck outta here and I ain't lookin' back!" Arden sells out hockey stadiums in Canada, has done several TV specials, and Sarah McLachlan has sung backup for her. But she just can't seem to attract a U.S. audience.

Peggy Sue: Buddy Holly Jailhouse Rock: Elvis Presley Chantilly Lace: J.P. Richardson. [The Big Bopper]
Comfortably Numb: Pink Floyd Bohemian Rhapsody: Queen Kashmir: Led Zeppelin @Clueluss... Audrey rocks!! Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! But that video... it's the impromptu "lyrics" from (presumably) her younger sister that made me smile the most!! Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!

Kinda reminds me of a time when me mom an sister was sangin the "Osker Meyer Weiner" jingle into a little real to real tape recorder i had about 53 years ago.!!!
Like Fraggle, I've been a musician for decades... I can't imagine just picking three songs... I really can't even pick three bands. But, I guess I can pick three that influenced me greatly... In no particular order... Pink Floyd... Rush... And a band that I personally know, and have played with back in the day... "X"...Damn, they were my idols, and helped me so much... Check them out... Curious what Fraggle thinks of them. You used to live here in L.A., I'm sure you're familiar with them.
Layla - Eric Clapton singing about falling in love with George Harrisons wife. Not to mention the other guitarist was Duane Allman. All Along The Watch Tower - the cover that Hendrix did of the classic Dylan song. Can't You Hear Me Knockin - Stones
I actually love all three of those songs... Just can't pick any three songs of all time. I would put all three in my top 100 though.

Australia's contribution to the very early rock n roll scene was lead by these three people. The first one I actually went to school with, although he was a couple of classes ahead of me.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iNZ4E73SS_g https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ThTdwyTawk And Australia's answer to Elvis https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eyh4aBv7B7c https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VgHA0yT8CI0 And our Mr nice guy of rock n roll https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7QqXYK2uFsM https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L6e1w0Gyetw
