If we are alone [and I don't for one minute believe we are] then it would raise far many more questions then if we are not.
And wouldn't the religious fanatics have a field day!

    Quite correct on both points.

we don't know. lots speculation but until we find other life it will remain an unanswered question

Speculation based on the indirect evidence of astronomical numbers and near infinite extents, if not infinite.
That coupled with the fact that the stuff of life has been found everywhere we look.

your answer in no way negates mine. the simple answer, and the answer you'll get if you ask "an expert", is that we don't know.

Microbial life has had a few billion years to hitchhike throughout the solar system and beyond via lithopanpsermia (and a remote possibility of bleeding off shorter distances from an extended biosphere). But apart from those tiny monsters, don't hold your breath waiting on the colossal engineering projects of an alien Galactic Federation to be detected in the Milky Way galaxy by optical or radio telescopes during even your later descendents' lifetimes.

    The Rare Earth Hypothesis

The main proponents of what is now called the 'Rare Earth Hypothesis' are the scientists Brownlee and Ward, and they have certainly stirred up an astrobiological hornet's nest with the idea. That's good for science in the long term. The belief in an unproved but accepted scientific proposition, in this case that that there are lots of complex alien critters out there, needs to be challenged if fields of inquiry aren't going to stagnate. However, make no mistake, it is the 'Rare Earth Hypothesis', not the 'Unique Earth Hypothesis', so religious fundamentalists who have taken this hypothesis to their hearts; who still need Planet Earth, and human beings, as some sort of religious special creation, should really not take comfort from these ideas. The Copernicus Revolution is still alive and well.

Astrobiology Magazine - Great Debates: Rare Earth

When the book "Rare Earth" was published two [14] years ago, it raised a great deal of controversy among astrobiologists. Written by Peter Ward and Donald Brownlee, the book's hypothesis suggests complex life is rare in the universe, and may even be unique to Earth. If life does occur elsewhere, the authors contend, it will only be in the form of single-celled microbial life such as bacteria. This debate will cover a variety of topics prompted by the Rare Earth hypothesis.

I wasn't trying to negate your answer...I was adding relevant information to it.
Of course the straight down the line correct answer is, "WE DO NOT KNOW"
But even scientists are allowed to qualify their answers, and I am near certain, the vast majority of them would qualify their answer thus.......
While we do not know, the evidence of astronomical numbers, and immeasurable extent of space/time, plus the stuff of life being everywhere we look, would lead us to the belief that it is far more likely that we are not alone.

And of course, if we were alone, there would be far many more questions to answer for scientists then the more likely reality of the Universe teaming with life.

We are definitely not alone. Universe is most certainly teaming with aliens, which also includes other humans.

Some probably more advanced, some most certainly less advanced, all separated [at this time] by those two great barriers, time and distance.

    Just some thoughts:

Universe is a big place. So, we do not have devices now to contact them. Use Quantum Entanglement type to connect them and people are working on that.

All the UFOs that has come in the past for the last 500 million years can have those people stay on Earth for reincarnation if they wanted to.

Because Universe is so vast, the Spirit Universe ia a parallel system that connects to our space but separate.

Reincarnation is a fact of life. See Buddhism...and he connected to the Akashic Records to get his enlightenment....

Distance is not a issue now. In the next 200 years we will have space ships that can make them....

So where can I get one of these quantum entanglement devices? Walmart hardware section?

We have no other being to compare our Human evolution of intellect , some could be slower , some much faster , in their growth of their intellect , that is what we should consider , seriously

The thing is, you seem to be sure , there is other intelligent life out there somewhere... We have no proof, only conjecture.
