i have a CD-R labeled visual studio service pack 6.
there are 3 files on this disk:
the service pack 6 file (60 MB) and a 'B' version (23 MB).
both of these files have the same file version.
there is also what appears to be a hotfix (913 KB).
all of these files are compressed.
do i install all of these or just the B version?
there is no readme on the disk and i don't think i can extract the file without installing it.

You shouldn't have any trouble installing them all since they are cumulative.

You should be able to get all your service packs online too direct from Microsoft. As I recall they just don't support VB 6.0 anymore.

yeah, if you use internet explorer.

According to Microsoft, SP6 is the latest. That would tell you you're in good shape with SP6 by itself.

I have no problem downloading from Microsoft outside of Explorer.

i've been to the visual studio update page and can find nothing on this 'B' version.

i can't imagine why microsoft would split this file.
