How do I indicate or show square root sign, super script and sub script? How do I use latex in the forum?

there is a sticky in the physics and math forum that has info on tex.
i suppose you could use it as a sandbox but check with a mod first.

    (Insert Title Here)

Meanwhile, the (sup) and (sub) tags are available for [sup]superscripts[/sup] and [sub]subscripts[/sub] in our standard text.

I have checked, but cannot find the info. Would you mind pasting the link for me so that I can get it with just a click.

It would be nice if someone took out there time to write up a tutorial with a list of latex signs. I might do it for the forum. Will take a week though. It's great having loads of symbols and code in front of you, makes your work a lot easier than trying to remember dozens of codes.
