Sciforums Externa (Social Networking outside the forum)

Sciforums Externa
While the forums are a great place, from time to time some of us might be on the road and away from a keyboard with enough time to write the emersive posts of length that we are use to. This means having to use more cut down methods of interacting within the Sciforums community which can mean using systems and sites external to the Sciforums domain.

To get around problems with current mobile users not being able to use the site correctly and to streamline the community more with the usage of many Social networks and Communications systems. This thread will serve as a humble introduction into those system.

Note: If there are any Bloggers/Tweeters interested in giving a hand and are willing to be apart of this "Externa" movement, we require feeds that follow general science stories, please post a PM to me and we'll see if we can integrate your feed with aiding in "Sciforums Externa"

Currently the account is up and running however I've rarely posted anything Sciforums related to it. In fact so far it's only be used to post a message when the forum was down to say it was down, that's about it.

The Feed has however been configured to Tweet from other Feeds in various fields of Science that this forum casually brings to topic on the odd occasion. So it can be used to gain current news articles and even topics we can discuss here in the main forum.

Important Topics and Bookmarked Link pages on Delicious.com:

Delicious is a Bookmarking site for keeping important and interesting bookmarks. Anyone can join and share bookmarks with each other, which is another important part of the forum. Sometimes people want to link to a site and later can't update the link because of post editing, well using Delicious gives you a method to have control over those links to some extent, however it will be up to users to find which link you refer to on your Delicious account.

I'm personally not much of a Blogger, however I'll try to integrate this into Communications within Sciforums Externa.
There is a "Shared" blogging position for people that want to add to the feed, however you'll have to PM me for more details if interested.

You can add "Simon Foreums" to your friends on Google+ through searching the name or using the email sciforumsexterna{@}gmail.com
Just remember to use the circles to adjust your level of privacy.

Sciforums Externa (group)

This is a group on the forum I've just setup, this group is open for anyone to join and it will be for the discussion of Sciforums connections outside of the forum itself. (Social networks, Blogs, Bookmarking sites etc)
