"The $100 million “state-of-the-art’’ security system at JFK airport is just “an expensive piece of junk with no value as a security deterrent,” the head of the union representing Port Authority cops charged today"
    There is more here...

In a nut shell a jet skier a night breaks down, an swims like 3 miles climbs a fence walks across 2 runways an into a terminal.
WTH! Was he thinking, an what were JFK security failures (there were many). An think of the safety.
JFK messed up! Not checking this out before! An doing checks is a failure on their part!
They have sorta thanked him. For showing that their system is junk. But they arrested him for criminal trespassing they should have gave him a job, checking out all security measures

if every hacker got a job for hacking into a system and stealing the info...thus showing a vulnerability in the system's security, well we wouldn't care for secuty than. Personally I know noone can make everything secure and a high ranking official saying the system is "junk" better reevaluate himself.

I wonder how long its been "junk", they should have some accountability. Because of all the passengers they get, an the airlines should not be letting this down. An neither should we for that matter. They need to do a better job. I can see the government stepping into this issue.

Uh, this WAS the government. It was installed under Port Authority direction and operated by the TSA.

No system is perfect. History is full of examples of impregnable safes being broken into, secure facilities being penetrated, secure documents being stolen, unsinkable ships sinking etc. Murphy always finds a way, and he doesn't care how much you spent on the system.

If you define "junk an sucky security" as "any system that has defects" then yes, Ft. Knox has junky an sucky security - since it has been stolen from.
