Want to play THE best game on the Internet?

First off, this isn't spam. I've no connection to the game besides being an ordinary player. I just remember seeing a similar thread here and thought I'd post this. In fact, I won't even give the name of the game or the URL except via PM to anyone who's interested.

I'd like to invite you to play THE best browser-based game on the Internet. Most games can be divided into two categories: One is the shoot-em-up stuff where the one with the quickest trigger (mouse) finger wins and usually requires you to stay online most of the 24-hour day or else you get beaten; the other type, even worse, is nothing more than the luck-of-draw. Yeah, about as much fun as a continous coin flip. I find both types, pardon my bluntness, as rather childless and pointless.

This game, however, is totally diffferent. It actually requires *thinking*. Thinking and planning - both short and long range. One of it's best features is that it never resets and makes you start you over. Never. Everything you manage to accomplish and things you acquire by building, finding or buying (with in-game credits) is yours to keep. Forever - until you decide to use it or sell it.

Another MAJOR plus is that everything in the game is optional, the choice is strictly up to you - you are never forced to do any particular thing. There are no player-vs-player fights, the closest thing being Mech battles where you can build robots (if you choose to) and send them into an arena to fight other Mechs. And there are many, many choices for careers. You can pick any one as your main job and as many others for secondaries as you want. It's all up to you, whatever you find the most interesting to do. It's a space-based game so there are new planets to explore where you can find valuable items and direlict ships to search through. You may chose to be a freight hauler (that's my main job), fight pirates, craft (make) or engineer dozens of items used by players in the game (you can sell to them), mine planets and asteroids for minerals that are used throughout the game as raw materials and always in demand by other players, transport passengers across the galaxies, and the list goes on.

You start with a ship and upgrade it in whatever fashion suits your choice of job(s). The only limitation to game play is fuel for your ship. You're given a generous portion each day (it regenerates every 15 minutes) plus there are a number of ways to get additional fuel in the game.

This little writeup dosen't begin to do justice to the flexibility of the game. Also, there's a staff of programmers and testers constantly adding new dimensions every few months. Another good thing is that they throughly test each new addition before letting it go live. I've never once seen any kind of rollback due to an added feature. Plus there's never any lag. The server is very responsive 24/7. The only slight slowdowns I've ever had were between me and my ISP.

As I just said, there's a LOT more to the game and I suggest you give it a try. I believe you'll really like it!

    The game is www.core-exiles.com

Ooops...I missed the part about sending by PM.....Please send to me. I'm looking for a new game. The last one I played was "Stronghold 3", and it was so broken, buggy and poorly executed that I rage quit after 5 hours.

I did not...you might want to send it. Just got to level 6, upgraded my laser, and bought some missiles. Did you say there was "base building" in the game?

OK, I will. I was about to send you a congrats message in the game for hitting lvl-6. You DID catch on faster than I did. Heh-heh-heh.

Yep, they are called "settlements" but it will be a while before you can start one. I've got two, the max the game will allow. Also, we're waiting for player-made Starbases to be introduced. Coops and the staff are working on the coding and bebugging right now.

Yep, the units are called "reactors." Let me intoduce you to two new thinga at this point: At the bottom on your screen there are several icons on the blue bar. Click on the wrench symbol just to the right of the three colored blocks in a stack. That's your "Ship Loadout" listing. A new screen will pop up and show what you have equipped. You can have two different reactors at a time.

Also, back on the regular screen, there is a drop-down menu an the left labeled "Please Select Option." Open it up and look for s choice that says "CE Data Repository." (We all call it the CEDR.) It's VERY handy and you will us it a lot in the game. When you click on it a new screen will open. In this case, look at the red bar and select "Reactors" - it's the 4th item on the top line. You'll get a complete listing of all the various reactors in the game, what store sells them and what the requirements are before you can install each different one.

Also. you will generally find reactors (and *many* other things!) for sale a the Players Market. Players frequently sell equipment as they level up and upgrade their ships and other equipment. And things being sold there are just about always cheaper than the original store prices.

Players Markets are found throughout the universe. One most frequently used is located in the Descartes sector and is in a settlement named Tagons Tribute on the planet Daphnie.

Be careful, though, all items listed are from ALL the Players Markets in the universe - pay close attention to the location before you buy something. Otherwise, you may have to make many hops to go get it.

I tried Eveonline and I guess it was better than most - but still not *nearly* as good as this game.

What's the problem, not enough time to play?
