    Dutch and immigrants

How do Dutch people view immigrants? I am traveling to Netherlands soon and will be living there for a year, thus any info would be most appreciated. Their culture seems liberal to my conservative tastes and housing options also sided to favor the citizens, or maybe I am wrong on this. How is life in Hague? Do they have many public activities to socialize in and I don't mean pub drinking, more of a nature hike to study the beetles or maybe orchestra listening of that sorts. Perhaps this request does not belong here at all, than I kindly ask to move it to the proper section of this forum.

Where are you from? Are you Anglo-Saxon, Asian, Latin ...?

I don't live in the Netherlands but I think that the view of native people only depends on the kind of job you have got. I mean that if you work at an Embassy or something good like that, it doesn't matter what country or planet you come from.

By the way, I have a Dutch friend and she is one of the best people I have ever met in my life.

thank you twelve, I am of unknown undefined nationality. I am residing in USA and planning to move to Netherlands for an high engineering related job. Yes I read an article on Dutch women and many of them support family values, that is very important to me.

Buddha most of those links I read prior, but the last one was helpful.

I think that you will need to learn their language, Dutch, to integrate you with them. I guess Dutch people are very good at English, but their native language is Dutch and they will appreciate you try to speak their language too. And always remember that you will be in Europe, in the Netherlands, and not in the USA, accept their rules. Good luck!
