It used too, however....... I think perhaps we're mortal because we will die then be free of the troubles our lives brought, ready to begin anew in another incarnation. It may seem unusual but I think some things can only be discharged through death like:
1. massive debt
2. physical abnormalities
3. poor relationships
etc..... mortality may be there for this very reason.

That means that seven million of the people now living will be so remembered. That's a lot of memorable people. More personally, it means that if SciForums has had a total of one thousand members since it was launched, one of our members is in that group. Perhaps it's you.
There have been many eras during which people thought civilization was coming to an end, and they were always wrong. We survived the rise of the Abrahamic religions. Everything else is a piece of cake.Oh thanks! A nice red one will look cute on my dog.a community that pollutes itself to extinction.
