    Lightbulb Bad Vs. Good Politics?

    Hello,

I was just thinking that whether politics are just politics or can also be Bad or Good. If can be, what will be their nature and outcome on ultimate, therefrom?

    I liked these quotes:-

"The first panacea for a mismanaged nation is inflation of the currency; the second is war. Both bring a temporary prosperity; both bring a permanent ruin. But both are the refuge of political and economic opportunists."
    -Ernest Hemingway

"There is no hunting like the hunting of man, and those who have hunted armed men long enough and liked it, never care for anything else thereafter.
    Ernest Hemingway"

    Best wishes.

The form of governance doesn't matter nearly as much as its consistency.
    A nation works when
    1. both rulers and ruled share the same principles: the law of the land is consistent with the morality of the population
    2. the majority of both people and administrators voluntarily obey the law
    3. distribution of necessities is reasonable - disparity is not so great that many die for want, while a few revel in luxury
    4. the nation's wealth is not squandered on unpopular enterprises*
In summary: when the interest of the ruling classes coincides with the interest of the citizenry.

(*Eg, war and weapons stockpiling, exploration and trade expansion, monument construction, rituals and spectacles. Any of these may be wasteful or profitable; may be supported or opposed by popular opinion.)
