How exactly is it that you know about my hard-headed staunch against sock puppetry? I haven't publicly discussed that in a long time, and I think, on a different science forum...

The word is relationship, as I mentioned, there are groups that protect their own , do moderators lie and defend their own ? yes.
Well you can asked R1D2 what he intended in his OP. I think the clarification he gave when I asked was pretty clear. That he meant more intimate real life relationships. Not how members in general interact with one another. He doesn't have to ask that, he can see for himself. But he may not be able to tell if two or more members are involved with each other outside the forum and was asking if this situation exists and what do you do. He was not offering an opportunity to attack people's sexuality or spiritual beliefs (or lack there of). It was a more generalized question.

Do you mean like if two or members of a family or household are members of sciforums?

Yes, it's a dictatorship. I'm not being facetious, that's just how these things are. A Forum is a privately owned space and is usually a benign dictatorship, lest they drive off members. But a dictatorship, nonetheless.

Seagypsy is correct in my meaning Lamont.
Let's try getting back on the real subject an ignore him for now. Maybe he will understand.. An gain some experience.

On another forum, I saw a member spew some interesting hateful posts for a while, which was out of character- then he was permanently banned.

He appealed the matter- someone else used his already logged in account and he was re-instated.
Safe computing and safe sex , the both keep you out of big trouble.

Yes, because seriously kidding is so much more intense than kiddingly kidding.
Now, if you were kiddingly serious, so totally seriously kiddingly serious , I would not have given you the benefit of the doubt.
    Seriously.

    You don't like Willy Wonka?

At least I think it was him...

OK, I hope it was, or I'm gonna look stupid...Again.

This is one is one of my own paintings. The painting is actually called seagypsy so for some beezaaar reason I thought it appropriate. And yes, Neverfly, I meant to speeeel it that way.

An artist among the homosexual atheist scientists may be just what this ...err what did Gutav say --"Great Forum?"-- may need, just to fend off the Zealots.

Already you have risen to the cause, word painting, as it were, with memorable imagery (such as emu entrails on bath salts) which, like the F-18 that skids off the deck of a carrier in an emergency landing, are helpful nuances that may unseat the fundamentalist/bigot/homophobe/etc. mindset through a kind of over-the-top linguistic stroke of the brush that seems to reach down into the heart of the beast and rip it out. In a good way, obviously.

In a word: cool. If you were to post your art, even on tamer subjects, I'd be among the the first to show up for the unveiling.

You wouldn't happen to have a full size picture for our viewing pleasure would you? I'd love to see more detail.

    What's the opinion here?
At this time I believe I would be open and helpful.
Its just my nature I guess. I like to lend a hand at times.
Besides that I wonder if she were on here if it would change our relationship in some ways. I have more than a few different tastes, in lots of areas. An if I were with someone an we separated how would that effect our interactions here. I not sure I'd tell her who I was. Or anyone else I knew off-line

I've actually thought about inviting friends to join the forum, but I can never bring myself to do it. I like having the basic anonymity the forum provides and anything less will change the way you post. For instance, the very first forum I joined, I used my real name and I actually felt selfconscience enough to alter the way I posted. I only lasted there for about 500 posts and then I found a new forum and did it right. The difference is a very tangible feeling.
