It never occurred to me before, but fact that my sonogram guided biopsy had zero pain except very briefly when doctor released the spring loaded needle to collect a sample, is more proof I had near zero BPH. (I had stopped peeing over the back yard fence years earlier, but perhaps still could have.) I also have no hemorrhoids.

The doctor warned me just prior to the first sample. - After it, I told him not to for the remaining 11 and with no anticipation they hurt little very - a bee sting at most. I was on my side and had a good looking lady with me all the time. (Not the doctor, you idiot, but my Brazilian wife, to make sure the non-English speaking doctor and I were understanding each other.) I asked him, and he did, run off a few prints of the Sonogram for me. I still have them somewhere.

I do occasionally get constipated, but for last 4 or 5 months I have found a zero cost prevention: My pet bird selectively eats out the millet and a few other seeds in the mix designed for his type of bird. Raw rice, still in the shell, etc. is left behind. I had been just tossing that seed residue out and using expensive (in Brazil) Metamucil, but half a year ago I started saving the bird seed residue and then processing it in the blender. - It works better, or at least as well as, Metamucil, I think because it is a mild indigestible irritant as well a bulk. Food passes thru my system more rapidly now and a side benefit is that I have lost almost three kilos - back to my weight in college now.

Sorry, KJK, you kinda walked yourself into that...
    I know it's a very distressing procedure.

I'll remember you said that, when it's your turn.

Yeah, I guess I deserve that, eh?
No worries, I'll be sure to let you know when my turn comes, if you're still around by then...

I worked 13 hours a day 7 days a week when there was a boat in port. Most of the lifting was hauling 100 pound bags of navy beans 2 at a time from a pallet in the center of the hold and stacking them up to the ceiling. Sometimes it was 100 kilo bales of Norwegian wood pulp instead, still came out to about 200 pounds a haul.

Hemorrhoids are sort - of varicose veins that start out internal near the anus. If you continue to do heavy lifting they protrude out the anus and bleed. I continued to do heavy lifting so I have a set of 'roids that can be very painful and bleed often. I cope by maintaining an extremely healthy diet rich in fruits, vegetables and whole grains - lots of fibre. Makes things very easy and I do not spend much time in the bathroom.

Having anything put pressure on those for an extended time gives me waves of serious pain. Like I said - I nearly passed out from the pain the first time. The urologist had his nurse pat my hand and talk to me to try and keep me from passing out. If I had, he would have had to stop the procedure and likely walk the gurney over to the hospital proper from the clinic. I was on my side for the procedure, for what that's worth.
