It seems like you guys think there's a difference between Democraps and Rethuglicans? Clinton did more to deregulate the banks than any other POTUS. Bush lied us into war, but Gore is on record as whining he'd have 'prosecuted the War better'. Obama's given more bailouts to the rich than any of them. Has he ensured banking scum like Corzine are prosecuted? Nope. Would that have anything to do with the fact the Corzine was/is one of Obama's biggest campaign donors? Corzine hasn't even been questioned by the prosecutor. $1.2 BILLION and he's not even questioned.
The economy is a reflection of our society. It is not on a slow incline. It's on a slow decline and will continue on downward for decades to come as people get used to the new norm. Asia OTOH has a pretty bright future. I'd suggest to any new graduate - learn Mandarin and move to Asia.

A couple of things Michael, I don't think anyone is under the illusion that either party is perfect. But there is one party that is clearly better than the other. And that would be the Democratic Party as it has a better track record of representing the average Joe and Jane and has been much more fiscally responsible than Republicans/Tea Partiers.
I was never a fan of Clinton, but he was better than the Republican alternatives. As for Corizine and as pointed out to you many times before, you have to have evidence of criminal behavior before you can charge him. You don't have that evidence.
By the way, the economy has been growing, not declining.Last edited by joepistole; 05-24-12 at 10:12 AM.

How come you never get your facts straight?

Also note the uptick in GOP voter-suppression efforts in recent years. For example:
http://www.slate.com/articles/news_a..._workers_.html
There's also the fixation with the James O'Keefe's of the world with (invented) "voter fraud" scandals.
Looks for all the world like the GOP fully expects to lose any fair election, and so is trying to throw a wrench into the works.

I watched Obama talk in Seattle a couple of weeks ago, and if anything he's even better now than at anytime before. It's truly hard to imagine that Romney has any kind of chance at all. Put the two of them in a debate together and it will be obvious to all.

The whole reason we had #1 was POTUS and #2 was VPOTUS so that we'd be less likely to form massive political parties that would fleece the American public. It's turned into one big reality show. Yes, Obama will decimate Mitt Romney. Whenever I see Romney give a talk, which isn't often, I'm left with a feeling this guy as someone tied up in his basement or maybe in his freezer. He's trying to look normal, when actually he's a weirdo.
It doesn't matter who we elect. If we elect Obama it'll be whatever the Federal Reserve tell him to do and likewise if we elect Mitt Romney. I suspect the economy will 'look' good in the run up, due to all the spending and then, after the reality show is done and you see the two-bit hack you've "elected" that's when it's either QE5 or austerity. Then everyone starts running around whining "if only so and so would have won it'd be different".
I think it was TYT that did a peace on the very very very slight differences in policies between the GOP and DEM. Such small differences as to exist within the error in terms of budgets.

The Iraq war alone represents a 2 trillion dollar difference in the national debt.

It really doesn't matter who wins because Congress will do what they want without the need of the President for they can override a veto if one is done. I still am very certain that, unless something drastic happens, Obama will be re-elected for we know what he is and don't really know what Romney will do if he is elected. The taxpayers are screwed and will be paying for this financial mess forever. Everyone that are doing things illegal aren't being put into jail but rewarded for their wrongdoings and this is only going to get worse with more greedy people getting into the fray.

Could he? I sincerely doubt his ability to stir up trouble in such a manner. When Gore fought the 2000 election, he had reason to believe something was amiss, and so did the people who protested the election. Unless something like that happens again, why would people take to the streets over it?
And you still haven't explained why exactly you believe Obama would do something like that?

Yes, that's right iceaura, it's all those evil republicans fault. Democrats will make sure you're looked after real well. Especially if your name is Julia.
This time 4 years from now. Life will be so wonderful for you... and it it's not, you can blame the GOP when they're elected. Or which ever.
