All right then It's only fair to have The Most Hated Baby Names then:
Nevaeh ("Heaven" spelled backward and one of the most divisive names around, according to Wattenberg.)
Destiny (People dislike names that confer a virtue onto a child, Wattenberg said — and many felt associated this name with exotic dancers.)
Madison
Mackenzie
McKenna
Addison (An example of a masculine named turned feminine, which many people dislike, Wattenberg said)
Gertrude (People said this name is "ugly.")
Kaitlyn (For its "made-up" spelling.)
Makayla
Bertha
Hope
Boys:
Jayden
Brayden
Aiden
Kaden (These rhyming names struck many as overdone, Wattenberg reported.)
Hunter (Too much like a last name or "too violent.")
Hayden
Bentley (People dislike brand-name names, Wattenberg found, calling them "trashy")
Tristan
Michael (Too boring, according to some.)
Jackson

05-22-12, 10:26 AM #86It depends on whether you ask the person doing the naming or the one upon whom the name is bestowed. What's going on?

Words are very powerful in their influence and the name by which one shall be called from birth until death can have considerable effect upon a person.
That is why in some cultures the naming is deferred briefly while consideration is given to the naming process.
In Canada, it is possible to legally change your name.
A name can seemingly convey a lot about a person — whether it's an accurate representation or not. And, that explains why some people opt to change their moniker.http://www.cbc.ca/news/background/na...ge/how-to.htmlMost applications must include a statement about why the name change is being requested, and of course, the proposed name.
Evaluation criteria vary by jurisdiction, but in general, a name change is granted if there is good reason.

I can't stand the use of last names as first names. Let's have a Madison Madison. McKenna McKenna? No? Then stop using it as a first name, asshole.

Good point. I think most everybody has fantasized about having another name. When it comes right down to it, it's very hard to make that decision, and if you do, what are you going to tell your parents about why?
The emotions involved in a name change must be very strong. Case in point, it took me over a month to settle on a forum name and I still get to keep my real name.

I have a cousin who named her daughter Aniel.
Frankly, if her daughter gets her name changed, I don't think the decision will be a hard one. Especially when one considers how she is teased constantly..
I mean really.. Aniel.
How and why could you do that to your own child. Any child.
It's like children who are named after fruit. Or when parents call their daughters Fifi.. And then try and claim 'it's oh so French'.. Sure, if you're a friggin' poodle.

My guidance counselor's second son's name was Donald.
Which would have been fine if his last name hadn't been Duck.
This is a true story.

How about Sitting?
Can you imagine how that kid would feel sitting in class waiting for his name to be called? At least April Showers has some incentive to get married ASAP. But if your a boy, all you can do is change your name in the courts or lie through your teeth until you can change it.
