Question regarding expansion of the singularity that supposed to have created our universe. If the origin of our universe was a singularity what medium did the singularity expand in? A surrounding universe?
IMPO: Expanded 'into' a pure energy pre-universe. However, may also have been the pre-universe 'imploding' (forming mass, via m=E/c^2), giving the appearance (to us) of an expansion. Ref: other 'Alternative Theories' threads on Sciforums.

Remember . . . just IMPO!! I dunno . . . . If you're a creationist . . . a higher (directed) intelligence operating at the quantum or subquantal level . . . . . If you're a quantum mechanic . . . a random subquantal fluctuation in the otherwise uniform-energy pre-universe . . . probably a random entropy fluctuation. . . . maybe a little of both! Can argue either way, IMPO.
. . . . or maybe . . . If you're a string theorist, two or more 'strings' became entangled (knotted?)
OK, If this singularity was the origin of everything (created time and space) then it means that we always will end up in the same point if we look out long enough in any direction and from any point in universe, (same distance regardless of direction because if there was nothing to expand in we will always end up in the same point after 13.8 bilj light year). The only way for our ligth to travel the same distance, independent of direction, is if the position we are looking at is the same as that we are standing upon, spacetime distortion must then be at least 360 degrees? This must also mean that despite where we are in universe we are always in the origin center of big bang. Which then must mean that universe is static, or?
