A doctor specialising in Donkeys told you to take a vitamin?
My advice is to go to a human doctor, and pay no attention to the e haw dr.

Do you have a particular reason for singling out B6? B vitamins are more often taken as the whole complex unless a very specific need exists.

    (Ok all joking aside)
What exactly do you want to take it for? Stress reduction? Depression? Anxiety? Bad spelling and grammar?

Haha I have a hard time spelling some words an I am on a phone w/O spell check. So sorry about my spelling. Simply put as I have tried to explain
. A dr said he recommends I take B 6. On the bottle it says energy an metabolism. I don't know really why he recommends it. I am a lil stressed thought that's why he recommended it but haven't got to ask him yet. I want to know ya'lls opinion. About vitamins are there more missing from the research that has been posted so far. An should I take that. An the Bee Polin for allergies like my friend suggested I don't know much about vitamins an I am trying to understand them a little better this . So here is a shout out here. Since I am a member an there are more input. To assist me in my choices. Should I just stick to like claritin or another allergie med or try this "supplement" or is there not sound enough info on what's over the counter. Hey just found the spell checker. Yay me. Thanks for any assistance

I'm sorry to hear of your accident. What type of accident, if I may ask, and how has this affected you?

I work graveyards and must get some rest now. I will look in on this thread when I wake up, in about 5 hours time.

If your diet is lacking, a good multivitamin or a B Complex formulated for stress might help. I have taken a B-100 formula, with 1000mg of vitamin C and found the combination helpful for my needs at that time.

Recently, I have been really getting into nutritional study and preparing most of my food from scratch and have taken no vitamins in a year, nor have I caught any of the colds/flu making the rounds.

    Later....

It is still pretty unclear to me why you feel you need B6. Are you an American? It's a little hard to understand what it is you are trying to say i your posts. I'm wondering if English is your second language.

There is very little evidence to support that there is any benefits to taking vitamin supplements. And taking too many can be harmful. So watch your intake, do some research and find out what the recommended daily allowance is and make sure not to get too much. If you feel that you need a certain vitamin, you will be better off eating foods that are high in that vitamin. As far as B6 goes, if I understand correctly, all of the B vitamins work best when taken together, so you may want to consider a B complex instead of just B6. But be careful taking it too close to bed time, as they can cause slight sleep disturbances, and likely will give you very vivid dreams, which is kinda cool, I've tried it

. B complexes are also slightly diuretic, so you will need to increase your water intake. Take note, that by water I am not saying pop, sugary juices, or coffee. Water. Pure H2O! Also, if your B complex contains niacin, then be careful, a high dose of niacin can be extremely unpleasant!!!!

You will also get some benefit from taking a fish oil supplement. Especially with a B Complex. You may also want to do some research and see what minerals go good with B vitamins and try to get some of those minerals. If you are feeling stressed out, or tense, a magnesium supplement can help tremendously. There is far more evidence to show that mineral supplements are more effective than vitamin supplements.

Skaught has given you some excellent information.

For emotional balance and weight loss, I can't say enough about incorporating plenty of vegetables and fruit into your diet and eliminating as much processed food as possible.

I used to eat anything and everything as pleased me. The more I learn, the more I have refined my diet and I now shop exclusively in the produce, fresh meat and minimal dairy and frozen veggies and fruit. Very few staples or cans.

Carrots and apples are cheap and amazing and I like to combine grated carrot, diced apple, some sliced almonds or walnuts, ground flax and some yogurt for a snack or a meal, depending on portion size. (Nuts and seeds are high in protein and fat, so not too many if weight loss is the goal.) Bananas and berries are also good. Fruit juices concentrate the sugars too much. Whole foods are better, IMO. Same with veggies. Better to eat them than drink them I think.

I also eat very little bread or products containing wheat any more and when I do, I eat rye bread or pumpernickel. Likewise pasta or rice very seldom.

Must get ready for work now.
