Good effort. Seems a little thriftstore amaturish. Try more drawing and invest less effort in the painting until you get more practice. Don't consider all your productions to be finished works. It's a common beginner mistake (I can tell because you signed them, no one cares about your name until you are famous). I recommend "Drawing on the right side of the brain", it helped me tremendously. "Doll In Barton" in particular is a nightmare, kill it with fire.

Pincho Paxton those are very nice paintings, I only wish I could paint anything like that. You have a very well developed talent and I do hope that you paint more for us to enjoy.

    Thanks!

So who can guess the 5 celebrities?
    Some are easier than others.

Pincho, I kinda like "Lindy Lou". Well done!
As for famous faces. I can spot Marilyn Monroe and Dolly Parton right off. That last one is perhaps Andy Green?
The one called "Not Quite Betty Davis" portrays perhaps Betty Davis? I have no idea who Betty Davis is..

I think the guy in "Stonehenge" could be Gustav..

Anyway, the guy in the Hurricane.. No clue, sorry.

Edit: Do you have more paintings like the one called "Lindy Lou"? I think you should do more like that.

    Nice

If you would use less outlines in your paintings they would appeal more to me.
I know it's your style and taste is personal but I'm just putting it out there.
One of the reasons I like "Lindy Lou" best is because the outlines stand out less in that one than in some of the others.

Yeah that's true. That's what I saw on a Da Vinci program last week. Mind you, the digital images are more contrasted than the real paintings. Even Lindy Lou looks better than the photo.

    Well done.

Acrylics are difficult to do some things with, have you tried oils yet? The subtlety of blend and shade that you are obviously working very hard to achieve could be more easily obtained with oils due to their much longer drying time.

Something to consider, unless you really enjoy the harder edge of acrylics.

The reason that I don't use oil paints is because they have a lower lifetime. They crack, and the colours change a lot. But yeah, oils are easier to paint with. I have to consider my fame however, and I need something that lasts thousands of years.

Tempera, also known as egg tempera, is a permanent fast-drying painting medium consisting of colored pigment mixed with a water-soluble binder medium (usually a glutinous material such as egg yolk or some other size). Tempera also refers to the paintings done in this medium. Tempera paintings are very long lasting, and examples from the 1st centuries AD still exist. Egg tempera was a primary method of painting until after 1500 when it was superseded by the invention of oil painting. A paint which is commonly called tempera (although it is not) consisting of pigment and glue size is commonly used and referred to by some manufacturers in America as poster paint.

Then the medium for you is porcelain paint on cone 10 - 14 white porcelain tile with a clear gloss final glaze coat.

I disagree with your evaluation of both acrylic and oil mediums as to permanence, agree with Cosmic on tempera. Cracking, known to the trade as "crazing" is due to several factors and not an inherent characteristic of oil mediums. Acrylic media also craze. Colours are either fast and certified as so by international trade standards organizations or they are not. Most are these days as we have had a lot of experience with them now over the centuries.

    Very nice work.

Thought I saw a ninja turtle in top right of Hurricane (first pic), but could not see any famous faces except Dolly, Marilyn.

    Very nice.
